Should be another good test to open the season in the Georgia Dome. Most likely an ABC prime time broadcast.

That will probably be a more respectable loss than Clemson.

Virginia's Governor is pushing for this game. They want to showcase Saban as the next head football coach at either West Virginia or Virginia Tech. this would bring native son Nick Saban back home to Virginia.

At least give us a chance. By 2009 is when most Alabama fans expect Alabama to be in the middle of the SEC West race.

The best quote I've seen was "this year we build, 2009 we should expect to be able to break the door down." If everything goes as it should, 2009 should be a SEC West run with Arkansas, Tennessee, and LSU coming to Tuscaloosa.

Wow. This time last year most Alabama fans were expecting a BCS bowl and now you're looking for an 'SEC West run' next season ?

Goodness, gracious. I guess last fall woke some of you guys up.

Within the next 5 years, we expect to compete for the national championship (especially if we have another great class this year).

This year, 8-4 would be a success seeing as we have to play at Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee and LSU. Ole Miss will be a lot better than some think and of course, Auburn will be as tough as always.

It's a tough schedule, but will be a good way to prepare the young players for the future.

Yep. Last year opened some eyes. You let Bama beat Clemson by 1 though and 13-0 in '08 is not out of the question.

We've started 3-0 every season since 2004.

I won't sit here and say we can't beat Clemson. It will take a flawless performance by JPW and the defense to stop the Clemson backfield. But Bowden is known for laying eggs in bigtime games.

IF (HUGE if) we get past Clemson, we should be 3-0 heading into Arkansas. I want our fans to be excited, but I also want them to realize that at that point we still have to play at Fayetteville, at Athens, at Knoxville, and at Baton Rouge. We'll be doing good to split those 4 games.

Alabama was tied with LSU for the SEC West with a couple of games left in Nov of last year. They imploded after that.

And Bama still had LSU, Auburn, and MSU on the slate.

Guess what happened.

Still, who would have thought they would have been tied for the west when we played them and put up such a fight. It was tit for tat.

Man,that's awesome. Oregon was #2 in the BCS poll in November last year.
