Very happy for yall. I think Moorhead deserved another year, but it's good to see that 6-7 is not acceptable at MSU anymore whereas it would usually have been considered a great success in past decades.

You have to exclude the previous 100 years for State to be a more successful program.

Yeah that's logical. *sarcasm intended.

I'm not crying about anything. I know we have fans that get bent up about the rivalry. What I don't seem to get is how State succeeds in something and brings up how Ole Miss didn't do the same. Also, I have made a thread about it. Name calling also shows that you're angry and that you know I'm right.

MSU didn't capitalize on their opportunities with Mullen or 2018 with Moorhead to really take the next step either. 2015 Orange Bowl, 2017 Bama game, 2018 Florida game, etc. At least UM's Sugar Bowl win wasn't vacated

Because that’s how rivalries and stupid sports forums like this work. What else should we bring up?
Most of the content on this page is really stupid LSU vs Bama drivel.
This should be a nice change of pace for you 2 Ole Miss fans that use this webpage.

You're absolutely right and I think that does validate Ole Miss having success as well. I'm not going to boast about that and then say something negative about how State did.
Mullen was a miracle worker and a great coach. It's obvious with what he did at State and now Florida.

I get the trash talk. All I'm saying why can't you say "Hey look at what we did? Isn't this great? We got our program over the hump. This has been one of the best and consistent decades we ever had."

That's it. Nothing else except responding to comments. I don't understand why that's so difficult.

I don't think Mullen is a very good big game coach. He got completely worked by Freeze in 2012, 14 and 15. Yes Freeze had more talent, but no excuse for not being competitive. I'll give him a pass for 2017 with Fitzgerald going down

I won't contest that but maybe it also had something to do with depth. Since Egg Bowl is the last game of the season you can imagine teams that late have injuries. If you're not stacked then it definitely makes it worse. That's just my opinion though.

Mullen's strengths seem to be a phenomenal job at development of players and making things work with the talent he has. Weaknesses would be in-game management in big games and recruiting at a high level

I think his recruiting will improve since Florida almost recruits itself. I do remember his clock management was questionable but he is young enough to change and learn. I wasn't a fan of him but I cannot deny the guy can get results.

Ole Miss hasn't been revelant since segregation. Ole Miss was decent when only the white folks played.

Now that's simply not true and you know it. You're reaching at this point. Stop getting so mad and listen to my point. You hate when Ole Miss fans say State fans are obsessed right? You want to know how to stop that? You stop talking about Ole Miss when speaking of State's success. Talk trash at relevant times. Take the high ground like Obi-Wan.

You are at the wrong board. Everybody trash talk. That is why this board exist. Now, go tell Alabama and LSU to be nice to each other. Tell Texas A&M and LSU, Auburn and Alabama, Florida and Georgia to be nice and quit trash talking. Nobody is singing kumbaya here.

Gonna give the OP his due- Miss State has become a respectable team, and even when you expect to beat them, you also expect an honest, physical fight. I wasn't surprised that Tua got hurt vs them... the first thing I thought was "shite, you don't want to be running up the score on a team like State with a gimpy QB, because the one thing they will do is hit you".

Maybe I'm scarred by the John Bond years, but I've always had a healthy respect for your program.

No doubt in my mind that if Mullen was coaching in 2018, State would have been a 10 or 11 win team. The defense was just too good.

You clearly didn't read any of my previous post. Trash talking is fine but when State accomplishes something and fans talk about that then mention Ole Miss leads us fans to say that State fans are obsessed. When your school accomplishes something brag about it and don't bring up Ole Miss. I could care less what the other schools talk about mainly because other SEC school fans don't mention Ole Miss when their school accomplishes something. I think it's an unhealthy and very odd obsession. Trash talking can be done in any other context but the one thing I will never do is mention State when Ole Miss succeeds in something because it has nothing to do with them. Continue behaving this way and myself along with other Ole Miss fans will keep saying State fans are obsessed. If State fans quit mentioning Ole Miss with their accomplishments then I bet our fans will stop saying State fans are obsessed. No one likes being called obsessed.
