Hey guys,
This idea has been pitched several times during the past few years, especially in recent weeks as there have been no live sporting events to discuss. I spent the past 30 minutes drafting what a five-team permanent opponent schedule would look like for all 14 SEC members. Please give me feedback; I'm welcoming of any suggestions and criticisms.
Traditional "Big Six" teams are bolded and in all caps. All Big Six teams have three other permanent Big Six opponents. Non-Big Six teams have only one or two, as I believe that is the most fair way to schedule opponents.
*Alabama: UT, AUB, LSU, Arkansas, aTm
*Arkansas: LSU, BAMA, aTm, State, Mizzou
*Auburn: UGA, BAMA, LSU, Ole Miss, State
*Florida: UGA, UT, LSU, Vandy, Kentucky
*Georgia: UT, FLA, AUB, Mizzou, S. Carolina
*Kentucky: UT, UF, Mizzou, S. Carolina, State
*LSU: BAMA, AUB, UF, aTm, Arkansas
*Mississippi State: AUB, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky, Vandy
*Missouri: UGA, Vandy, Arkansas, Kentucky, S. Carolina
*Ole Miss: AUB, aTm, State, Vandy, S. Carolina
*South Carolina: UGA, Mizzou, Kentucky, Ole Miss, aTm
*Tennessee: UGA, UF, BAMA, Vandy, Kentucky
*Texas A&M: LSU, BAMA, Arkansas, Ole Miss, S. Carolina
*Vanderbilt: UT, UF, Mizzou, Ole Miss, State

There doesn't appear to be a search function OTB where I can make sure a similar thread hasn't been posted recently.

Swap Bama for Ole Miss and you’d be in to something. Ole Miss fans won’t want to play South Carolina so just give us their spot on the Ole Miss schedule.

& so you've given everybody 5 "must play" games.
Now what?
Now what?

What happened to the whining about "We don't play TN or FL. enough!"?

Your schedule is fubared. You have Bama listed under Arkansas as a permanent game but then don’t list Arkansas under Bama for theirs.

I see my mistake, thanks! I fixed it.

Why the frick would Ole Miss be a permanent opponent for us?
MSST or Mizzou makes way more sense
