When you go from fry cook at McDonald’s to janitor at BK, maybe... Not in the world of major college football or other big money sports.
So when someone goes from head coach of a team to an assistant or coordinator they don’t take a pay cut? It happens all the time! He is going from the “head coach” of a department at one of the largest football schools to a position coach which he has not done before. A pay cut is expected!

Yes you’re right, that does happen all the time. Except those people are what we call “fired.” Cochran was not fired. Find an example of a head coach leaving by his own volition to take a coordinator job somewhere else.

You are wrong.
Cochran is taking a promotion.
However, he is going from the best in the country at something with a lower ceiling to a new position with not much verified public experience. That's the reason for the slight paycut. If he does well, he will get a bump next year (probably higher than what he made last season) and those bumps won't stop until he maxes out (S&C reference) his on field coaching abilities.

Sounds like UGA fans talking about Coley.
You won’t find many, if any, UGA fans who didn’t want Coley gone.

Coley needed to go and he was shown the door. He is still getting UGA money, so he is not hurting for money.

Was fired. Reading comprehension strikes again.

You say I’m wrong then basically explain what I was saying.
I can see where you got lost in my first post. There was two lines of thoughts. The first saying it was dumb for the guy trying to say cuts don’t happen in higher positions liking it to McDonald’s and Burger King. The second I was saying what you were saying. He went from being at the ceiling of his current position to now starting at the floor of the other in a position he has bet little experience in. Almost like starting a new career.

All of those examples are promotions.

So he was fired from Youngstown? No. He left as the head coach there to be the DC at LSU. Comprehension is hard for you.

We wanted his arse out too many injuries of late!!
Why didn't they just fire him, then? or cut his pay?

Now I am confused. was he forced out, or not?

At some point the nonsense has to stop, and $550K for a STs Coordinator is utter nonsense
Well, GT is keeping things sane. You guys only pay $205k for the role. Good for 54th.
