Tuscaloosa is certainly known as "the Druid city" and I believe there's a Masonic link from the Druids to the Jesuits

He’s a Southern Baptist.

No he is not Southern Baptist, unless he changed from the faith of his SE European ancestors. He attended Saint Aloysius Parish in Baton Rouge and attends Saint Francis of Assisi in Tuscaloosa. He has never been Southern Baptist. He and his Wife raised some $2 million dollars for the Catholic Student Center at the Catholic parish in Tuscaloosa just a few years ago. The former pastor at Saint Aloysius when Saban was a parishioner who is now retired and lives in a house near some buddies of min is still very good friends with Saban.
You seem like you are one of those ole time Bama types having a hard time thinking a coach that has won at Bama like Saban has could be Catholic.

I'd respect him more if I learned that he were a Jesuit
The Jesuits are a very scholarly order

Well I am a Catholic and the old School Jesuits, big fan of, not these modern ones including the current Pope. Of course I was educated by Dominicans who produced Saint Thomas Aquinas and Saint Albert the Great among others. The first person in Christian history to put divide the Chapters in the Scriptures into verses was an Italian Domenican biblical scholar, Saint Pagnini but of course the Protestant revolt would soon follow and his method did not become widely accepted. He was the first none the less.
