Auburn beats Iowa State. (1-0 SEC)
kansas beats Tennessee. (1-1 tie)
Alabama beats K-State. (2-1 SEC)
Oklahoma beats MSU. (2-2 tie)
Oklahoma St. beats Aggie. (2-3 Big 12)
Arkansas beats TCU (3-3 tie)
LSU beats Texas (4-3 SEC)
Kentucky beats Texas Tech (5-3 SEC)

Even if Baylor wins, the SEC finishes 5-4 in the challenge.

You’re right that it should be 9 games so there is a winner. But it’s 10 games. We need Florida to beat #1 to get the challenge win.
