Why isn't Mizzou playing Kansas and Tennessee playing West Virginia?

Just seems like more logical geographical matchups.

Did Mizzou not want to play Kansas or did Kansas refuse to play Mizzou because they're still butthurt about Mizzou bolting for the SEC?

UT played WVU last year or the year before in the SEC/BIG12 challenge.

Also, isn't it based off of where you finished the year prior in your conference as to who you draw from the opposing conference? (Or something close to that)

Bill Self refuses to play Missouri, he even said it years ago. Starting next year we have 6 games against them and that's due to their new AD.

Matchups are generally based off of team quality. Makes no sense to make the worst team in one conference play the best in the other.

Why would Kansas be butthurt? I think Missouri is scared.

Whatever the reason, I agree that the matchups are strange. Arkansas had better basketball rivalries with nearly every other SWC team than it had with TCU. Rice was the only team that was less competitive. Since 1949, Arkansas and Texas Tech are nearly tied in the series, while we've won nearly 70% of our games against TCU.

It’s based on where each team finished in conference last year. 1v1, 2v2, and so on
