How much blame does Kermit get for this disaster?

We have very little to no post presence on either end of the court. Sy actually played pretty well last night, but against those "paid to play" types LSU rolled out there, there just weren't enough boards on either end. We were out rebounded 42-26.

I believe we got three points off the bench. THREE! LSU got 20-something. Did Sammy Hunter even play. Bryce Williams' only points came from the surprise late three. Maybe he's still hobbled. We are very much missing Rodriquez. He was easily the bright spot of preseason camp and he's out for the year. Buffen played pretty good last night aside from missing every single free throw (that sounds almost funny to say), but he's been so up and down.

Then of course, and of all things, we somehow went belly up from the free throw line last night. We were outscored by 19 from the line alone in our own damn building.

On a night when Tyree goes for 36 at home, we lose. However, that is both good and bad. It's Exhibit A of having to rely too much on one player, but ironically he got his and we still didn't win. Mystifying, sorta.

It's no secret Kermit has been very critical of this team's toughness. He's been public about that. Evidently that's not something that changes overnight. So how much blame Kermit gets in what has been a surprisingly disappointing season is hard to say. It's certainly not all the player’s fault. I prefer to chalk this all up to growing pains, but we sure aren't anywhere near where I hoped we'd be. I still believe in Kermit (hell, it's only been a season and half) and with our facilities I believe he gets it done. Last season's quick success spoiled us a bit. Maybe we just have to be more patient.

said exactly this on the drive home last night with my friend.... going to the NCAA tournament last year was great but bad for Kermit bc it made that the expectation very quickly going forward for him

Outside of Tyree every returning player regressed. That is what makes this tough to swallow.

I have hope for Bryce williams and SY going forward... Buffen and Hinson are complete wildcards. That’s about it

I think you can add Rodriguez based on what we saw/heard pre-injury but otherwise you are quite correct imo.

I think our record won’t represent how close we are to turning the corner. Gotta get in the weight room hard this off season.

This rebuild is going to take time. It took Bruce Pearl 4 years to turn Auburn into something respectable. Give Kermit time

Yeah we really aren’t in a position to start shopping around already nor do I want us to or think we should. Not even close. Kermit is our guy.

I mean we only have one player who would start for LSU and we would’ve won if we could shoot our average for free throws. Not sure how that’s on Kermit. The talent gap is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed ASAP and that is on Kermit.
