I will never turn my nose up at a road SEC win in which we were down 11 in the 2nd half. They dug deep for that win tonight. Hoping we just saw the game that gets Joe up to that next level for good.

We've always sucked at the Tad Pad. I'll take any GD win by whatever margin there. We never go away.

Maybe getting the new place was their mortal mistake.

We've been better in the Pavilion.

One would have to think that all of these close games would have to pay off come post-season where practically every game is a close game.

they had plenty of excuses to lose tonight

leaky hotel, severe weather last night, sleep deprived, on the road in the SEC, 1st year coach, team of guards, etc

my hats off to the for not using them

Agreed. I was thinking the same thing earlier. These close games are gonna pay dividends in March.

I'm trying to wash the past out of my brain when it comes to this program now.

For so many years being married to a system to when it didn't work we lose.

Now we have a system that can adjust and throw a wrench in the opponent's gears and give us a chance to win.

This is what I've hoped for for far too long.

This is the first time I can remember in a long time that we are mentally tough enough to win on the road down by double digits at one point. No way I thought we would only have two loses at this point!
I think it’s as simple as expectations. The new head coach expects to win and he doesn’t allow a mentality of “win some lose some” to exist in his program. The mentality is more like “win or I’ll find someone who can win because losing is not an option”. People will rise or fall to the standard you set for them. Coaches say things like “I’m my own biggest critic” but sometimes it just doesn’t feel that way to the fanbase. I actually believe that’s the case with CEM.
