We normally go to this game just to have something to do

I'll always fondly remember the first year of this bowl game when it was the Papa John's Bowl. We decided last minute to go, and rushed to get there telling ourselves we'd just get some pizza once at the game.

Nope. The Papa John's Bowl wasn't even selling Papa John's pizza at the game. Worse, only a few concession stands were even open. We left at halftime.

I live around 75 miles due west of Bammerham, and I wouldn't go if I lived across the street from Lesion Field. It has been raining since 1 am, non-stop, and will continue until well into the night...A cold rain, too

Why do cities like Birmingham and Shreveport even bother having a bowl game?

They're both better destinations than Montgomery.

It's time to put that stadium out of it's misery.

Yeah this weather is miserable. I genuinely feel bad for those players.

I agree with the sentiment that it is idiotic to put two non-southeastern teams in this game.

I'm watching, but lightening delay right now.

If it goes on too long and gets too nasty, do they just cancel rest of the game?

A bowl game was cancelled last year because of weather.

Boston College was in that game as well.

We should make up our own Birmingham Bowl swag bag of discarded SEC leftovers.

1 - slightly used free White billboard
1 lost key from a Dodge charger
Kirby Smart branded Flowbee Suck Cut and bowl trimmer
1 commerative Alabama national championship t-shirt.

Someone from Finebaum's show tried to call Papa John's to have a pizza delivered there. They were told it was too dangerous of an area for delivery.

Can confirm the liberty bowl is the most depressing bowl. Freezing my arse off in that crumbling concrete high school stadium as my Cats beat ECU was miserable.

Although it did feature a fat man touchdown and the world's most brutal stiff arm.

Because their hope is that Arkansas is just good enough to get an invitation in order to fill up the stadium. It's like a home bowl game for the neighbors to the north.

What a treat...good for both teams. Been practicing and at it since the summer, and your reward is sitting in a lightning delay at the Birmingham Bowl.
