I am not sure what has happened but the last few years it's been the same ole same ole...good..then terrible...Frank acts like he is just going through the motion. Virginia...and then Stetson....come on. I am about ready for a few good years of basketball and just put the final four run on the shelf. Frank is not getting it done...except the one year. The rest is trash.

That one year was catching lightening in the bottle. Frank did not capitalize on the FF with recruiting and is stuck with athletic players not basketball players. The generation today is not going to tolerate getting cussed out in front of everyone so tge talented players won't come here. In 7 years we have gone dancing 1 time.
As much as I think Frank needs to go I do not trust Tanner to make a good hire. Ray has to go first.

I played on those Westside High (Augusta) teams in the late 90's. If you know anything about basketball in the CSRA. Then based off that credential alone. You know I know my shite.

Frank 100% caught lightening in a bottle as stated above. I won't tell you he's a bad coach or not a good coach. He had 3 future NBA players on that team. Two of which were locals. And we all know how hard that is to do for any in state team. The rest of the team was full of role players who bought into his style of play. As well as responded to his Grown arse Man style of coaching. And it all came together and jelled at exactly the right time. I watched them in that SEC tourney and said to the guys that rely on me for sports betting insight. "You ride SC in the NCAA until the wheels fall off, they can beat anybody right now". To this day I tell people had Sin not gotten that flu. Those boys would have ran through that tournament and came home champions. They were unbeatable and made every game their style of game, a dog fight.

If we equate it to football we finished that year going into “bowl” season at like 28th, then ran through the playoffs to the top 4. It was a great year by USC standards but still only a 7 seed. Heck even with the final four run we finished the year 6-6

We won’t be in the tournament this year. Need to bring Gregg Marshall home after this year!

Would double GG even leave Wichita at this point?

After the way we snubbed our nose at him I doubt he would come here. Not sure I would want the drama his wife brings either plus at WS basketball is king here he would be 3rd or 4th fiddle.

If he won like he did at Wichita it would be second
That said we haven’t won like that ever in modern times so I don’t think he’d win here

There was a time when South Carolina mens basketball was the King. The town and most of the state would shut down on game nights. Those days are gone but there is absolutely no reason we shouldn't have a program that goes dancing 1 out of every 3 years and in the nit on those off years.

Yes but now we are in the SEC and this is a football conference
As shown when we went 0-11

That said if we did that then our team would probably be 2nd among the fanbase too.
Then again I said what Gregg has done at Wichita, that’s far better than one tourney appearance every 3 years.

Yet your basing your comments on a pipe dream. Nothing more than your opinion from a fantasy you have.

I think being a tourney team once every 3 years is a pipe dream
I also think the football team winning a title is a pipe dream

Doesn’t stop me from watching

What does that have to do with you wishing gm was coaching here?
