I’m tired of this shite. It cheapens the entire bowl season. Puts an asterisk against any win, any upset. Statistically, these players are more likely to get busted for drugs, have a car wreck, than sustaining a career ending injury. If there is such a problem let the billionaire NFL owners and greedy sports agents provide 10,00,000 insurance policies.

There should be a legal clause in the scholarship.

You hold yourself out of a game. You owe the school for the cost of that scholarship.

Let these selfish bastards pay back six figures out of that first big NFL check.

I don’t know why anyone who says this thinks it offends or riles anyone up. It’s a lame lazy attempt to not have to argue your point.

Expect rumors to NFL scouts.

I know different folks are going to see it different ways but I can't blame the players. They have a chance to make positive life changing money for them and their families and I can't blame them for not wanting to risk that on a game that really doesn't mean anything but bragging rights.

You know what cheapens the bowl season even more? Having 40 bowl games.

Seriously, 130 FBS teams...40 bowls. That means over 61% of all FBS schools will play in some sort of postseason as compared to 21% of all D1 basketball schools that will make the NCAA Tournament, 41% will make ANY postseason.

Are you willing to force Asst Coaches to stay with their Teams and do their fvcking JOBS thru the end of Bowl Season?

Thought so

Coaches & Assts are majority white and the players are majority Black, so you wanna add in more rules to control the players and when it comes to the weasely chicken shyt stuff that the coaches do, when they run out on their players for more money & start poaching Recruits and trying poach other Staff members, you don't say a damn thing

You have tons of opinions about 1 group (the majority Black group), but when it comes to the majority white group (the coaches), you're quieter than a rat pissing on cotton

How about you shut the fvck up

This issue doesn't really bother me. I didn't blame Deebo Samuel for sitting out the Belk Bowl against Virginia last year. Especially if the player has a history of bad injuries.

Unless it’s the CFP, your stupid bowls don’t matter. Just extra practices for next year. Why waste the reps?

Yep or make them buy out the remainder of their contract.

It's not about race.

Not worth the risk, because if it ever got found out that an Asst or HC is bad talking his players to NFL Scouts that coach is effectively ending his own college career because he'll NEVER be able to recruit talented players again

NFL Teams are worth Billions and have the resources to find out on their own anything bad about a player that isn't already in the Media, it ain't the College Coach's job to work as an NFL Team investigator

Learn how the game is played before making silly public comments

Coordinators make $1.5 million & up, and HCs make $4 million & up, no one is gonna risk losing jobs that pay that much to spite a player for not playing in a meaningless exhibition, crap bowl game

This internet is great in that the anonymity of it causes idiots to let their guard down so we can all see how stupid they really are

Well the bowl season didn't even count back in the day. It was basically an exhibition game which was treated like the pro bowl and everything was decided beforehand. It has always been constantly tweaked over the years, so which year did they get it just right for you? I haven't seen any players sitting out playoff games, so maybe you are a proponent of playoff expansion.

If it is the Liberty Bowl or some lower tier bowl they should not play if they have a legitimate chance at going pro.

The major bowls I think they should play especially if they have never been to a major bowl. That is good experience for Sundays.

The Nick Bosa situation is a "business decision" and you do not always get what you want in a "business decision". If I am a NFL GM and see a player shut it down before the end of a season where his school was still in the hunt for the college playoffs I have to take a long long hard look at him. He might go down in the draft a few spots and hurt himself with the money. But it is his "business decision".

You really believe that

The NCAA Rule is pretty damn thick and filled with rules controlling what REVENUE producing players can and can't do, very little of it controls what the highly paid coaches can or can't do

In many non Revenue Sports an athlete can transfer and not have to sit out a year(unless it was recently changed), but in CFB & MBB you have to sit for a year

Keep being naive
