SP+ rankings

Clemson #3 defense
LSU #19 defense

LSU #1 offense
Clemson #6 offense

These stats take opponent strength into account. What they don't take into account is that I believe LSU's defense has improved greatly over the past 2 months.

They've gotten healthy and had a fire lit under them.
Divinity will also be back against Clemson.

Also most of the time in defensive numbers, there isnt a huge drop off between 1 and say 15.

JB would have lit up UNC for 70. Clemson struggled to get 14.

This is the right answer. For whatever reason Aranda had them playing soft at the beginning of the year. A combination of players getting healthy and Aranda turning the blitzing loose
Our defense is solid.

Yep. I'd rather be peaking presently at #19 as opposed to playing at average at #3 presently. The Georgia game is a good example of a peaking team compared to a treading water team.
