Because of their recruiting class?
They’ve been ranked top or the top 2 the past several years and still lost to LSU at home, lost to Gus with a true freshman QB and missed the playoffs. Why should this “top” recruiting class be any different. The decline is real.

It's the stages of grief thing. We went quickly through butthurt, to melt. Melt is over for some, but still strong in many. Those that have made it past melt are now in "I'm good enough and smart enough". This is combined with huge doses of living in the past.
Acceptance is still a long way away.
