Two greatest one year, off season improvements by SEC football teams: '08 Bama-'19 LSU

Bama surged from a .500 type club in '06/'07 to a dominating club that came within one or two big plays of knocking off Tebow's national title team and going to the title game. They gave an early warning by blistering the number 2 ranked Georgia team in the opener I believe in Athens.
And this year's LSU who came from a talented but disappointing and disjointed bunch to a team that is quite possible a title winner. Burrow didn't do this by himself. Orgeron obviously ain't a candidate for the menses society but that's not what it takes. He hired guys who know what he doesn't know and aggressively sough out the best (new high tech off season and weight room program). I'm impressed.

I think you mean Mensa Society.

LSU went to a NY6 last year. I’m not sure they qualify for greatest one year off season improvement.

Auburn went to the NC after finishing 3-9

LSU's offense this year is a shocking improvement from last season, but last year's LSU team won the Fiesta Bowl and had 10 wins.

Missouri had a big jump from year 1 to year 2 in the SEC
Went from missing a bowl to being a quarter away from playing for the National Championship

Florida went from 4 wins to SEC Champ and 4 wins to 10 wins two times this decade ..do these count?

I mean we won an NY6 game last year. We only lost to Bama, UF at Ben Hill, and a fluky 7OT game. It wasn't like we went from 7-6 to 13-0.

Sad, poor attempt to make Alabama relevant

The correct answer is 2013 Auburn. I don’t know if anyone else has ever gone winless in the SEC one year, then played in a national championship the following year.

I mean i get this complete change in offense seems drastic to us. Even more so considering the past 10 years of 1970's college football type offense we displayed every year.
But man you are trying way to hard to put us in the biggest turnaround ever category. Enjoy the great season, enjoy the Heisman and possible Natty. We don't need to create obligatory "best ever something something" threads that no one ever cares about to pump ourselves us more. We #1 in the playoffs with the best player in college ball. That's enough.

Alabama wasn't as bad as people think in 2007.
Lost to UGA by 3 in OT.
Lost to FSU by 7.
Lost to LSU by 7.
Lost to MSU by 5.
Lost to Auburn by 7.
Their 6 losses were by a combined 36 points. Even blew out a ranked Tennessee team on the day that several players got a bullshite suspension.

LSU 5-5 1957
LSU 11-0 NC 1958

how in the world would it not be 08 bama? That 07 team was garbage and lost to ULM and barely went .500. Next year they started 12-0.
2018 LSU won 10 games and finished in the top 7.
