Man, Fairly 2010 is hard to beat. I think its just been so long, people forget how dan dominate he was. Plus he was nasty which is something every defensive tackle needs. Some of the plays Fairley made in 2010 were just unreal.

Do we think Brown will win any of the national awards?

I think so too. He single handedly shut down a lot of offenses that year. He didn’t give the effort that Brown gave, but when he turned it on he was getting to the ball carrier.

Haven’t watched his tape in a while but Fairley took several cheap shots to go along with double teams and still played well. He was a fearmonger and a little better pass rusher. I’d probably take Brown as the most consistent though.

You guys have definitely forgotten then

I love DB, but let’s compare this year’s stats to 2010:

Brown (2019)
Total Tackles: 49
Solo Tackles: 29
TFL: 11.5
Sacks: 4

Fairley (2010)
Total Tackles: 60
Solo Tackles: 36
TFL: 24
Sacks: 11.5

He had a high motor in 2010. He murdered Bama, UGA, LSU and Oregon in the championship game. We probably dont win any of those without him

Suspended 2 games, flamed out at the end of the year yet saved by the media hype train. Big 10 is a joke

Notable that Minnesota had a finalist there. If you watched NFL, you’d recognize the name.

The other finalists were Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown, Georgia safety J.R. Reed, Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons and Minnesota defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr.

I admit CBS did a great job hyping DB throughout the games.

Hmmmm. We didn't have a end rushers on this team as we have had in the past.

Best interior dline for sure.

Derrick Brown didn’t win the best interior lineman award ( Outland.) Some Oregon OL got it. smh
