Through 4 years at Georgia...
Mark Richt: 42-10 (1 SEC Championship)
Kirby Smart: 43-12 (1 SEC Championship)
12/7 2019 - After yet another off-season of hype, inexplicably Georgia shits the bed against another West Team when everything is on the line.
-Kirby decides to throw his players under the bus and blames the receivers as if it's not his job to fix them.
12/8 2019 - Mike Bobo joins South Carolina's staff and is the second Offensive Coordinator in the SEC East who has worked for Georgia but prefers not to coach at Georgia, further strengthening speculation that Kirby is difficult to work with.
-Sam Pittman, ace recruiter and offensive line coordinator leaves the program.
-Kirby says there is a disease in the program.
-Clay Webb lets teammate unwittingly drink his semen and is being sued.
-Jake Fromm declares for draft.
-Dwan Mathis, backup QB has been sidelined with a medical problem all year.
-Backup to the backup is a walk-on.
-4 starting offensive linemen are either declaring, leaving due to eligibility or transferring.
-17 players sit out of Sugar Bowl.
-Georgia's incoming 2020 QB has hit less than 50% of his passes during his senior year. Source
-Swift declares for NFL Draft.
Kids can't wait to get out of Georgia.

With the talent level in Athens there’s really no excuse not to have 1 NC by now.

Add that Florida finished higher than UGA in the rankings last season and is primed to do so again this year.
Such a waste of all of that 4 and 5 star talent.

Interesting. Did not know Richt made a natty, won the east 3 straight times then was fired after year 4.

You’d think if smart was so bad and Mullen such an offensive genius he would’ve been able to win at least 1 game against smart. Seriously, how did Fromm light up UF on 3rd down all game?

I think Georgia will have a great chance at making a run next year. They've been stockpiling talent at a higher level than Richt.
Trajectory can still go up for Brother Kirby, IMO. Wouldn't shock me to see him break through and win one. (Or at least get there again)

Mullen is in his second year with a Frankenstein of a patched up team -- his best defensive player was a transfer. His two top receivers are transfers. (Kyle Pitts is technically a TE that he recruited.)
The difference between Kirby and Smart is the level of development and quite honestly: The adjustments of the offense to their strength.
Kyle Trask is the complete opposite of what Mullen wants to run his offense, Jake Fromm fits like a glove in Kirby's offense...
So why does Trask have better statistics in literally every single passing category outside of interceptions where Fromm only holds a one INT lead?
Trask has more touchdown passes.
He has a better completion percentage.
He has more passing yards.
And you want to know the kicker? He has no running game to help him. He has played in fewer games and worse yet? He has to share snaps with Emory Jones every single game, at least 10 - 15.
In the end, Quarterbacks win championships in this new era of football, and Georgia's days are numbered to head the East. No one will have faith that Kirby can get it done after this year, which is why I started this thread now.

Trask also had better receivers and a better OC. Despite that Fromm still outplayed trask H2H and finished with more ranked wins than trask. Florida fans always want to talk about the gap closing then back track when comparing Smart and Mullen. Mullen and grantham had 3 first round picks on defense and lost to Kirby 31-3. Recruiting is a part of coaching and that makes Smart a better coach.

The playoffs were around while richt was at UGA and smart took a richt team to the playoffs. Richt also failed to make the playoffs at Miami. Either way, richt wasn’t fired for his first 4 years. Anyone who thinks richt is the same coach now as he was then is dumb.
