Saban is different these days. I don’t think he has the same fire. He’s getting older, but I think it’s more than that too.

Saban is far from “done” but his dominance every year in the SEC likely is. I don’t think he has that same fire he once had. He’s getting older. Those long hours and time away from his family will start getting to him. He really has nothing left to prove. It all adds up and takes a toll. Eventually he it just won’t be worth the effort anymore.

Kids don’t want to sit 5 deep anymore for a ring, they want on the field to chase NFL money as freshmen. Other than wide receiver I haven’t seen Bama with this lack of depth since Saban year 1 or 2. And Tua and 3 of the 4 receivers leaving this year! Will be ok next year but certainly not the same.
