“Alabama must win this game,” Finebaum said. “Nick Saban is the only coach in the last 80 years to win the national championship without winning his division. That dog is not going to hunt this time.
“If LSU loses, that’s a real quality loss. If Alabama loses, forget about it.”
Pawl had it right.......Bama does not deserve to be in the playoffs. after a loss at home. Forget about it. Not this time.

I don't disagree but what team do you put in front of Alabama?

K so Pawwwwl is right once or twice...
I agree with what he said, other than LSU probably would not have gotten in had they lost either...

We'll see if he sings the same tune now.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he starts pimping them for the playoffs in a couple of weeks.

Finebaum is about ratings, do you not think he is going to stir the pot to keep the calls and hate mail coming?

I would much rather play Bama than Ohio State or Clemson.

Said this morning that you cant put Bama lower than 4 cause they have the best quality loss

tOSU is the only matchup that sort of “scares” me this year. That’s a complete team, tested or not.
The “Burrow revenge tour vs his former team” narrative will be fun though.

PSU- lost an away game against an undefeated team
Georgia- Much better quality wins than Bama
Oklahoma- Lost an close away game against a strong opponent
Why's Bama get the benefit of the doubt?

A 1 loss conference champion.
If they put Bama in over a 1 loss conference champion then they are essentially saying conference championships don’t matter. If conference championships don’t matter, why would a 12-0 team play in one? Why play an extra game and risk injuries? If I’m that 12-0 team, I trot out every walk on and 4th string guy I have and call nothing but trick plays just to make a mockery of the game.

Andddd they didn’t lol

But no quality win. That’s their problem this year. You would be taking out any reason for teams to schedule tough OOC teams. That would be bad for college football.

Auburn gave LSU a harder game (AT LSU) than Alabama did. If Nix has "average QB play" (and they are playing at home this year), good chance Auburn beats Alabama this year. I think Auburn has one of the best defenses in college football this year, and the best defensive front for sure.

A team that earned it. Playoffs are about teams earning their place, not being gifted it. Teams need to earn their place, or it's just poll bullshite again, and an excuse to get away from computers for dictating what teams should go as opposed to teams that pass the 'eyeball' test.

Because we are the greatest college football program in history
We arent like an LSU or a Minnesota (who has more titles than LSU) or a Georgia Tech (who has more titles than LSU). Or a you get the picture

Not arguing for BAMA getting in but PSU could have two losses before it is over...
If UGA beats LSU then UGA is in....
Lmao at Oklahoma’s loss but if they win out they should be in but I put a one loss PAC 12 ahead of them

Why's Bama get the benefit of the doubt?
Bama lost to #1.
PSU lost to Minnesota who is undefeated. So, you'd have to put Minnesota in front of Bama. Do you really think Minnesota would beat Bama? I seriously doubt it. No one thinks they would. They would need almost a full season of hype for anyone to take them seriously.
Georgia lost to South Carolina who lost to Appalachian State. Georgia will lose to us in Atlanta in a few weeks. They'll have two losses.
Oklahoma - maybe if they win out but they lost to a very average (actually below average) Kansas State team. (This is the very best chance and it's almost a long shot)
Who else you got?
I don't know why they will get the benefit of the doubt but I'm having a hard time seeing the committee put anyone in front of them besides LSU, Clemson and Ohio State.
