It is not some foregone conclusion that he gets 1 more year.
There's no way he's retained if we don't improve the win total or win an SEC game. Football is big business and ours is hemhorraging money.
Don't think the people pulling the strings don't notice or don't care, simply to stick with a "nice guy." The almighty dollar is all that's truly important.

If we lose out, which is not all that unlikely, I bet he's fired.

There's zero chance Morris survives this now.
I think he'll win one game-either Western Kentucky or Miss St. but it's too late. The school now knows beyond a doubt what they have.

Firing Chavis won’t mean crap when your offense sucks just as bad. You could put the Steelers steel curtain defense out there and we still would suck on offense.

I say there's a 99% chance he gets another year.

Let's steal Bob stoops from the xfl.

He very openly talked about our job during the vacancy. Basically said it was a good job and great program historically, and that he'd do anything he could to help fill the position.
He was definitely offered the chance to turn it down and politely did.

No chance
That stadium will be half empty for Auburn and Miss St.
There's already grumblings (per Hogville) that something is being discussed. Take it FWIW.

Unless they figure something out, quickly he wont get another year. There's absolutely no reason for it

It won't matter.

You know this how?
If he loses out or wins 1-2 more, the discussion will be serious.

Firing a coach after 2 years is extremely rare, but the losing streak we're on now is also extremely unprecedented so it wouldn't surprise me. Bielema did go a long time without winning an SEC game too though and he got 5 years but you could tell obvious improvement in year 2.
Sure our losses have been pretty close but the schedule hasn't gotten very hard yet.

Can't wait for Notre dame and Texas. Colorado State has been pretty rough.

The discussion may be series but that's all it will be, a discussion.

1. He has a buyout
2. He is only in his 2nd year
3. Almost ALL coaches are given another year with the emphasis on staff changes.
4. Who would come here right now?
5. The powers that made this hire are stubborn people who won't admit they were drastically wrong. Egos

I was going to go to the Notre Dame game but now unless there is a new coach I'm not going to spend my money on what I'm seeing.

1. Costs more to keep him than fire him.
2. Ordinarily I’d agree but he’s been historically bad and hasn’t had any real success as a head coach.
3. You may be right on this but he may also be stubborn and not go along with massive changes
4. A lot of guys assuming we open the wallet
5. Wrong. Jerry has no problem firing coaches.

let me have a go at it...
1. The buyout is huge, for him and his coaches...
2. 2 years normally isn't enough, but this is the pits
3. He will make changes, or be gone.
4. Someone with a desire to prove themselves, and $$$
5. Jerry wont fire his own pathetic coach!
