We are recruiting at a higher level than we ever have. After a second year with our current recruiting, we should be able to close the gap on a lot of our talent deficiencies. If we have better blocking and better skill positions on offense, we don’t have half the problems we currently have. It is astounding how much our defense has improved. But our depth chart was gutted on offense and it shows.

In 100% agreement. It is amazing how just a couple of very good offensive lineman would change the dynamics of this team.

I really think we are just a couple of players from having a very good football team. Unfortunately the couple of players we are missing are at the absolute worst positions in the SEC.

You realize you're talking to Aggies, right?

Agreed, though.

It’s interesting that you used “perspective” because that’s what I think our fan base is the most angry about. Had we lost to both Clemson and Auburn in close, competitive games you probably wouldn’t have nearly as many disgruntled fans. We knew this was still a rebuilding year and our schedule was extremely difficult. But we’ve been thoroughly outclassed by the two teams with a pulse that we’ve faced this year.

The perception is we aren’t very good and can’t compete with good teams. That was something jimbo was supposed to fix. We didn’t think we’d be going 10+ wins in his first or second seasons, but we did expect closer games and no blowouts. We thankfully haven’t had any 59-0 or 34 point comebacks, but we’ve looked flat out outclassed and unprepared this season, which is not a good look, especially when people expected us to be good and pre ranked us in the top 15 (which I wholeheartedly disagreed with and knew we weren’t deserving of that).

Starting next year, we'll only play one game against a team with clearly superior overall roster talent than we'll have. It seems likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future.
