Said he let his brothers, family, coaches, university and whole state of Arkansas down. Idk if he’s the answer but I think he’s still our best option at qb. He at least owns up to his mistakes and I know he wants to succeed and still believes he can

Doesn't matter, IMO. That is just who this kid is at this point. He's got a great arm, but acts like a frickin a-hole and throws the ball to the defense. Repeatedly. He isn't good enough and is detrimental to his team's effort of winning games.

I just can’t blame the players right now whether they are specifically good enough or not. The coaches should have taught them something by now and we should see improvement, if one player sucks okay put in a different one. If both offense and defense plays like shite consistently then it’s on the coaches in my opinion.

Despite having a horrific game Starkel did tie up the game for us in the 4th quarter... only for our defense to completely collapse.

Yes, he threw his 5th INT after that but 2 or 3 of his INTs were panicked "I've got to get it all in this one throw!" A good OC and coaching staff either settles down the QB when he's doing that or realizes that it just isn't his night and pulls him.

Starkel was hideous out there. But our running game was the drizzling poo. Our defense was a sin in the eyes of God. And our coaching decisions...

Twice we went for it on 4th down with runs up the middle, something we failed at all game long, even though we were in easy field goal range. We kick those two FGs and maybe Starkel isn't as panicky on the final drive because all he has to do is get us in FG range.

Starkel is what he is. He’s not gonna check down or throw the ball away. Not having burks hurt him a lot. Burks, Knox and o’grady will often win the 50/50 balls. When that’s happening he looks great. When it’s not happening he looks like garbage.

Our pathetic coaching staff needs a major talent advantage to win. With burks, Jackson and brown out we didn’t have that.

Half the time he doesn't give those guys a chance at winning a 50/50 ball because he overthrows everyone on the field. Probably more than half the time. If you've got big targets out there you need to under throw them if anything. It gives them a chance to come back to the ball and use their larger body to shield the defender.

And yeah, maybe my last comment was harsh, but this is the stated reason why he left A&M, y'all. He throws too many picks. And now he's doing it here too. He makes bad decisions with the ball.

I agree that not having Burks probably cost us the game. We were much more one dimensional in the passing game without him

Yep I said it during the 1st quarter. Burks is a major safety valve over the middle. He is also so good he demands attention. Taking eyes off of Knox, and O Grady. Without him they could key ob those guys.

Not having Burks shouldn't cost us a game especially against teams like SJS. Its a shitty excuse to be honest.

This isn't fair either. Starkel tied the game up, the defense then actually got a 3 and out and the offense sputtered with a chance to take the lead. First half defense was awful but the 2nd half defense up until the end of the 4th was actually pretty good. At one point they had forced a field goal and five straight punts.

Their players wanted the game more than ours did. Their defenders were laying the fricking wood to our dudes. That shite yesterday was as bad as the Citadel loss.

The defensive staff has made adjustments at half and the defense has performed better in the second half than the first half of most games.

The offense is running at only 25% of the playbook which means their are 25-30 plays tops and the staff can't teach them to execute and perform the 6 plays in their game plan and refuses to expand at any point when those 6 plays fail to work, but wait I'm sure they were trying to keep it vanilla to save the big plays for SEC opponents.

Oh I’m not saying the coaches have an excuse.....but I think we win the game if Burks is in the game
