Sorry you fell to QB2 behind a future NFL starter. That you KNEW was only a year above you.
No need to create racist bs if you don’t have the guts to continue to fight for a spot, which would’ve been two years max, and possibly sooner had UGA opted for Fields and Fromm had grad transferred.
But no, he took the easy way out. Created some dramatic BS to be immediately eligible at a school he probably should’ve gone to from the first place.
Overall: seems like he’s a selfish person with poor decision making skills.
Haven’t been a fan since I first saw him and his helicopter pilot of a dad “Pablo” on QB1. Arrogant as hell.

If Burrow had a spine he would have stuck it out in Columbus.

Field's future is more important than your opinion of his testicular fortitude.

Kid has a chance at millions. He should do whatever the hell it takes to give himself the best shot.

A chance at generational wealth is something not many of us have. He would have been foolish to stay there.

I hope he balls out, gets drafted high, and invest 3/4 of every dime he makes.

I wouldn’t call a rookie contract generational wealth, but maybe that’s just me.

The situations of Burrow and Fields really aren’t similar. Burrow had already graduated and had only two years left of eligibility. His opportunity to do exactly what you said was dwindling. Fields on the other hand had full eligibility remaining. He did not fulfill his obligations to the university and instead used PC culture to manipulate the white liberals by crying racism to secure his immediate release from UGA while simultaneously ensuring he would not have to sit.

It was completely blown out of proportion by Fields so he could manipulate the situation because he couldn’t beat out Fromm.

Come on.

Kyler Murray just signed 35 million fully guaranteed 4 year deal. 35 million is definitely generational wealth. Field's might not go #1 overall, but he has abilities to get
drafted high and command an 8 figure deal.

Field's obligation is to himself. He doesn't owe UGA anything. He gave fair work for fair wages. A better opportunity presented itself and he took it.

People take better jobs all the time.

He Smolletted any chance Ohio State had for a natty as long as he is their qb. Karma is a cold hearted bitch.

it did happen though. how could you blame him for using that to get immediate eligibility?

should he have not even tried to use that as an excuse and just lost a year?

We have very different ideas about generational wealth, so we will have to agree to disagree there.

You say he doesn’t owe UGA anything, but he received exposure, housing, an elite training staff, a years worth of free tuition, books, food, and recreation to name a few, all on UGA’s dime based on the false premise that Fields was committed to the University of Georgia for a minimum of three years. You think UGA got a return on that investment in the form of fair work?

He didn’t leave for a better opportunity as you put it. He left for an easier opportunity. They aren’t the same thing.

Yeah, one disputed event constitutes an immediate danger that requires his immediate release and granting eligibility effective as soon as he steps on another schools campus.

I didn’t say that I blame him. He manipulated the white liberals at UGA and the NCAA like a pro.

I just said he used their weakness to his own benefit and it reflects poorly on his character.

It worked out for Fields and it worked out for Burrow. Seems like a pretty good ending for both parties. Why the melt?

I understand your salty fit dome reason.
But Why? You don’t play tOSU.

As much as I may have wanted him to stay; it’s hard to argue he didn’t make a good decision.

And even though the racism comments were used, maybe, to get an advantage; they did happen. And who is anyone to judge that.

What is real; is he was a divisive point of view for the UGA fan base. From those who felt he should get a better look with dedicated packages or actually even a full drive. Not just come in with a one read option..... and those who felt he distracted Fromm and made it more difficult for UGAs offense to be cohesive.

To be honest; with the way social media is ; JF could have just pointed to any one of UGA social blogs , to the NCAA; and ask why should I have to stay there. It got ugly and extremely personal at times.

All I really know is; for a QB( who just made his 20th start) in HS or College... think about that ... TL started 14 as a HS freshman.... JF looks pretty good. 70% passing... even though he’s really better than that.. he has thrown the ball away a number of times. 9 passing Tds, 4running... and for the he can’t read defenses... he sure doesn’t have s problem going to his 3rd and 4th option...

I don’t know maybe it all worked out how it’s supposed to.... but he sure looks like OSU fits him well.

Not really sure where you are going with this. You’re an LSU fan and you don’t play OSU so not sure you have a dog in the fight. He was going to basically sit until his Jr.year and wanted to start and knew he would start at another power 5 school that’s pretty good. I can’t really see how anyone can blame him.

What I don’t understand is if the racism drove him to transfer then why did his sister commit to playing softball at UGA after the incident?

Technically she committed before. But she didn’t enroll till this year.. so I see your point..

However I’m not sure how much racism or social media ridicule; she would face playing softball.

... In all honesty; I highly doubt the comments bothered him. However; for whatever reason he wanted to leave... and NO ONE know why he wanted to leave that is posting in any blog... it is pure conjecture... the fact is the comments along with any other crap said about him.. and there has been a lot..... it gave him any resources he needed to transfer and play immediately......and he felt that UGA wasn’t his best option anymore... so he used it..........you would too!... anyone who says they wouldn’t is Lying... and they know it.

Think about it... why sit and play in 20, and get drafted maybe in 21; but more than likely have to play in 21, and get drafted in 22... when you can play in 19 & 20 and get drafted in 21....

Fields graduated early; from what I understand he’s highly intelligent and already had multiple college hours before getting to UGA; he’s probably on tract to graduate in Spring 21.

Seems like most UGA fans who I know who complained about him playing this year; don’t want him to play this year at UGA either; and they don’t care about the kid. They are just pissed, or better yet; scared!

He shouldn't need to a reason to be eligible immediately that is true problem.
