Should be a good matchup, UF with several players out and UK with Wilson out. The backup QB Sawyer Smith, who is a transfer from Troy, has a lot of snaps under his belt.

UFs defense wins the game. Our run game needs to improve a lot in just a few weeks.

Turnovers are the key to winning.

UK's weakness is in the secondary on defense.

With our WRs, need to take some shots early and often.

Swing passes and short curls will NOT get UF anywhere.

Should be an easy win for UF.

Four of the last 5 against UK have been a fricking knife fight in a phone booth. I don't expect this one to be any different.

I think UF eventually wins out because of their ability to generate pressure and Franks' experience.

Last time here, he was benched. I think that will motivate him.

Stoops is a damn good coach.

That said...with Terry being out that dual threat scare is not really there. Which always gives us headaches.

Think we should pull this off. Will be decently low scoring.

Florida - 23
Kentucky - 14

I don't man. They just lost their qb and your strength is against their weakness.

Box, Mullen I think will use short passes to 'soften" up the UK defense...when they have to cover sideline to sideline it will take its toll.

I just got through watching UK vs Eastern Michigan...have you watched the entire game? UKs strength is still their DL and it will be hard to run the ball. You think we should just chuck the ball downfield in high risk ? Safe passes and field position are very important....do you know how damn hard it is to march downfield 85 yds?

Im afraid the lack of a run game will make the UK defense tee off on us. Punting is not a bad thing if you flip field position. We aren't running the fun n gun. You may not realize it but Spurrier was our leading punter two out of his three years at UF.

Anyone betting on the Gators may lose $$ if they give 10 points away. Stoops is a very good coach and smart, his team aint rolling over my friend.

If UK doesn't have to worry about the run Franks will be pressured all day. If he makes plays under pressure UF could win big, but I imagine he will make mistakes too.

UK can run a lot better than UF and that will keep them in it as they wear down UFs front.

This is a dangerous game for UF.

Line is moving down quick.

Usually I play the other side when the line jumps that quick. Hoping it gets down to 6 1/2 and I'm jumping on it.

I know its a dangerous game and young boxoid thinks throwing is the answer...wish it were that simple. The bubble screens are just like a run play...but you stretch the opponent sideline to sideline which can open up some run plays by Franks or the RBs. We could lose this game and don't listen to Peter....by the time jawja plays em they are worn down already.

A great comparison to football is chess..or play snooker against sharks....you play defense and wait for your opponent to make a mistake....then cash in. You don't just crash down the door with guns blazing.

Agreed. Luckily, we have better play makers to cash in on the mistakes.

Seriously...Copeland is going to be insane with Toney out. We saw a few glimpses Saturday. I would bet money he makes a very meaningful impact this weekend. If you can't tell I really like this guy...think he was a five star kid and didn't get ranked as high as he should have been out of high school.

The money all went to UK on that line...I'm waiting to see how low it will fall. If it falls below 7 I'm jumping on it. I don't think UK is much of a threat at all with Wilson out.

We dont have a QB or an OL and the secondary just lost its best player.

I'm watching UK vs Toledo. They have major problems setting the edge on defense. None of their WR's seem like big threats. RBs are good not elite. Seeing some break downs in the secondary sadly the Toledo QB is not seeing it. Hopefully Franks can.

I feel far more confident watching their two games. Vegas set that line high for a reason.

I'm changing my score from 23-14 to 28-10. I just don't think UK is very good watching them play.

They are without their starting qb and their weakness on D is their pass defense. It should be a blowout.

Peter, we have been unable to run the ball well. UK does have athletes, Paschal is a pass rusher for example. Our LOT Forsthye will be matched up with him a lot. Daniels at LBer is a playmaker along with Square at LB. On offense they have WR Lynn Bowden who also is scarey returning punts.

Their TE Upshaw is a future All SEC. Jr DB Echols is good and soph DB Yusuf Corker is good (he should have been charged with targeting in the E. Michigan game for the 3rd qt and we wouldn't face him til 2nd half). The QB Sawyer Smith is a grad transfer from Troy who threw for over 4,000 yds...but he didn't show up til summer and now is learning the offense.

They aint rolling over and ever since Stoops had a couple of years building the program up they have fought us hard.

Agree with you this should be a comfortable win for us, unfortunately, we like to turn comfortable win into close wins and sometimes losses. This game, like many this season, will rest on Franks shoulders, and that is always a roller coaster ride. If we don't turn the ball over, we win by 14 or more, if we do turn it over, who knows.

Is this a game that Mullen circled before the season? Do you think he game planned more for UK than he did UT Martin? I feel like he wants some revenge and will get it this weekend.
