Our attitude going into UT Martin seemed to be we will win just clean stuff up. So I'd assume we already started game planning, as did UK.

Need to start this game out in a better fashion. We’ve been struggling early in the last 2 games. Would like to see some deep shots early to set up the run.

OL needs to get fired up. We need to own the trenches.
Our Guards look like theyre pillow fighting out there. Need a big change of attitude in the middle

Kentucky’s front 7 is going to butt frick our soft ol. Gotta hope Mullen game plans for that like MSU last year.

Marco Wilson is working with Kaiir Elam on some technique after practice, while the tight ends are on the Jugs machine.

Tight ends have been a no-show this year so far.

Not bad as receivers, blocking leaves a lot to be desired

Our TEs can not block to save their lives man. Gamble especially vs Miami. Dude missed a couple blocks that could have sprung big gains. Pitts has had some receptions but still...someone needs to block from that group

Big whiff on the TE block on the Franks run on 4th down.

TEs cant block, that's a given. Kitts is a good receiver, but we need a blocker. This is why I would use six OL to block...we have to run better. If we get 150 yds rushing we should win...get 180 yds we WILL win as long as turnovers aren't bad.

Seems alot of pundits and fans thank Kentucky is gonna feast on us not sure what to think about this but after last year with what was Kentucky's best team in over a decade I don't think this team will take them lightly our D needs to shut down there run game or this will be a long Saturday night.

If the D can shut down the run game and our guys can just go after Smith and make him uncomfortable which we have shown we can do(also our secondary needs to play much better)it will be a long night for the cats

The defense needs to feast on the new QB and our OL needs to come out aggressive and set the tone by moving ppl off the ball.

The formula for Away games hasnt changed in 100 years. Run the ball and play defense.

Bro fans want UK to win. Doesn't mean they will.

We opened as a 12 point favorite at their home.

They are not the favorite here. The guys who actually know football in Vegas see a big difference in the two teams this year.

We could lose this game and don't listen to Peter.

They are without their starting qb and their weakness on D is their pass defense. It should be a blowout.

Any team can lose any given day for the most part, but a lot of this thread reminds me of Manny Diaz coming out and saying "it's early in the season, team will be different at the end. It's a work in progress".

I have full faith that we'll handle Kentucky, because if we don't after what happened last year maybe Mullen might not be the guy we're looking for to win a Championship. They have considerably less talent all over the field and of course, they just lost their starting QB.

I don’t feel good about this game at all. Uf has struggled against short passes and uk loves that and they have a strong ground game.

i have to agree with Straws on this one, if we can't beat Kentucky after they upset us last year and ended the streak, Mullen may not be the one to lead us to the promised land.

Same. It will be closer than Straws wants it to be, but it's because our offensive line and skill players struggle to run block. So its going to be ugly at times. Luckily our defense should be fine.

Cool, let's air the fricking ball out lol.

If we're not run blocking, a Redshirt Junior should have no problem giving us a passing attack to the take the pressure off of the run, right? Especially since Kentucky has a weak secondary.

I totally disagree with the premise that Mullen isn't the coach to lead us to championships if we lose Saturday.

First of all Mullen inherited a slight mess of a roster with so few backup younger OL and he has recruited to refill the Ol cupboard.

EVEN with a L it doesn't mean we cant win out and go to Hotlanta, we play every east team. Better to lose early than late. Remember we weren't even ranked in the preseason last year and lost to UK. We would drop like a brick in the polls if we did lose...but have AU,LSU and UGA on our schedule to gain a lot of ground.

With all that said, I believe we can win this weekend. But people using Wilson's injury as an excuse are wrong. I would prefer he played...he is a good runner, poor passer and has tendency to fumble at times. Sawyer Smith is a much better passer and the grad transfer threw for over 4,000 yds at Troy. If they able to run and draw our safeties up...it could be tough sledding. Their frosh TE Keegan Upshaw is a future star and Lynn Bowden is a very good wideout/punt returner. The good news is that their RBs Rose and Smoke have a tendency to cough up the ball.
