My comment was based on the personality and attitude he has shown throughout his high school career, the recruiting process, and his time at Alabama.

That is why I'm surprised that he had an issue that has kept him out of practice and completely away from the team for a game.

No one is destroying him or calling him a paid professional. As we have seen today, paid professionals have plenty of disciplinary issues of their own (e.g. AB).

ETA: Also surprised because the scuttlebutt had still been the same family issue.

I wonder if he would have started over Lee/Harris if he had come to Bama.

Wasn't that the reason a lot of recruiting services were initially ranking Alfano a bit lower then he should have been, off field issues?

Probably just frustrated where he is on the depth chart. It happens.

Just got back from game. Couple observations . Sopsher is not as overweight as I thought from what I could see behind bench. Really hope Parks can have a role in future. Kid was up waving towels and genuinely happy for teammates . Lastly , the offensive line is just not performing well at this time . No push at all against two inferior opponents . Going to be interesting against SEC West defenses . Know not many will agree but we are not as good offensively as last year. Offense looks totally different and I am sure they are saving some stuff but lots of dink and dunk stuff that will be defended pretty well in conference . And no, NMSU was not in quarters coverage the whole time either . Hope this week is when we really start clicking but OL is concerning to me

I was thinking the same thing bear88 on the dink and dump passing.. but I’m also wondering if it’s because we can’t hold a pass block for more than a second. No time for down field plays to develop

Yes there were some plays where Tua had to side step or step up to get throw off . I don’t care about NFL style offenses or getting QBs used to the pro game .....hell I like Locks offense . Had guys running wide open all over the damn field . No so much now

And we are not physical in running game at all right now . Hope we fine tune some things

I agree. I think the guys are more comfortable with RPOs

Why is it we can’t have a good offensive line every year? This is BS. We supposedly have a ton of good players but it doesn’t look like it.

Maybe when Brown comes back things will click. Run game just looks slow developing and no holes to run through

Our OL so far has been mix and match. We are still in experimenting stage it seems.
Womack and Neal's (a freshman) best position is Tackle but they are playing guard,Dickerson is a guard and he is playing Center. Going to have problems with that kind of shuffling. Plus both our Centers are hurt.

The offensive line was out of sorts all day and it's very concerning. The coaches need to get that fixed starting this week. The offense was underwhelming in the offensive line play and running backs. Najee and BRob just don't have that wow factor. Josh Jacobs was a special player.

I hate to say it, but the only explosive player at runningback is Robinson. Maybe the other guys have it, and I just haven't seen it. I'm an idiot, so that's highly possible

Especially considering New Mexico St is consistently one of the worst teams in the country. Yeah they haven’t had time to gel yet but the sheer talent difference alone should’ve been enough for them open up massive running lanes.

Whatever Saban is working with Sark as it relates to the offense needs to take shape soon as SEC play is about to start. South Carolina will be a huge challenge.
