Good stuff. Overall, he likes what he saw from Franks. He goes over the 2 interceptions, and he kinda explains what happens. I’m not so sure if he was throwing to the deeper receiver or not based on the backfield view. He still could have and hit Hammond(?) in stride in that play if Swain(?) hadn’t have tipped it.

LINK

Passing: 17/27 254yds 63pct 2TDs 2INTs 1 rushing TD

The first INT could be argued to be the receivers fault for breaking it up. I could’ve been intended for the deeper WR. The second should have happened because a run play should’ve been called.

If you take those 2 interceptions away, I have a feeling we wouldn’t be trashing Franks as much as we have.

The fumbles are another story. I want to say they could happen to anybody, but they were pretty fundamental plays.

The play overall, just play, wasn't awful for the most part.

The 2 interceptions, especially the 2nd one was TERRIBLE.

The showboating, trash talking, overall attitude? I hate it.

On a different note, has he always been this douchy or is the first I’ve noticed?

Some fans while trash Franks no matter what . I am not sold on Mullen and his staff but he has to have a reason for playing Franks . Maybe it’s because the OL is the weakness in offense especially in the run game . Jones is a better runner then Franks but with the OL struggling to run block putting Jones out their could destroy his confidence. We have seen way to many QBs struggle here to live up to their hype . It looks like we are going to have to pass the ball to open up the running game . I think ALL Gator fans should give Mullen and Frank atleast half of the season before we trash the all the time . You can’t support Mullen but hate Franks as the starter . Mullen is starting Franks and calling the plays .

Dont understand why people keep claiming a run was basically mandatory there. Four minutes left. Run game was not working.

If Mullen had gone a quick 3 and out running it people would have said some bs like he played no to lose.

He called the play. Franks did not execute it. He made the worst possible decision so to act as though we should just remove that one doesnt make sense.

Play call was fine. Just a bad decision made. I'd prefer Dan play to win. Just need his QB to make a better decision if the play isnt there.

Nah, let's keep that, otherwise someone can take away the 131 pass yards he had to Hammond and Toney, the latter being a play that was designed and the credit goes to Toney for breaking tackles.

Without those two plays, one the best of the night, the other that was successful no thanks to him, he's at 15/25 for 123 yards and three turnovers.

Instead of looking at the stats, look at some of the normal things that he failed to achieve:

Several passes to the flat which were checkdowns were off-target.

He completed one pass over the middle that I can remember, a few to the sidelines that were decent but pretty middling.

There are also times where he just flat out misses guys who are wide open -- and not outside of his cone of vision, right in front of him.

For example: In this play, he's forced out of the pocket and doesn't realize that there is a large box where only our player is. All he needs to do is put some touch on his pass and lob it over. 90% of the time Toney catches that and very likely goes for a touchdown.

However, look where he puts the ball. His biggest issue is that 1. he doesn't see the field and 2. what he does see are points and that's it. He wants to be a hero, he wants to make the play, and he ignores the safer players below.

Why is this important to this year?

Because he did it last year against Michigan.

These are extremely easy, routine dump passes and he routinely misses them. After an entire off-season he is still the exact same guy, and I can easily go and grab screenshots of all of the extremely, depressingly easy passes that he just can't seem to complete consistently.

I agree with the not running the ball with 4 minutes left unless it was Franks running from a empty back field or Jones/Toney playing wildcat. I think it would have been better to pass the ball down field or Running a bootleg .

Maybe he could stay off of fricking social media reading about himself and he wouldn't be bothered about it.

What drives me crazy is Mullen consistently tells people that he doesn't want Franks on social media.

The first thing Franks does on a Sunday after a game he almost gave away?

Search his own fricking name on Twitter.

Im fine overall with Franks on the field execution for the most part...none of us know what play calls were signaled in and what routes the WRs were supposed to run.

However, Im not ok with the off the field behavior and his lack of maturity...part of it is my age and beliefs. But in this day and age the showboating is too common place. Look no further than Joe Burrow and watch a few clips of him scoring...just about the same shite. College has evolved to street game in the hood...sad.

Without those two plays,

Does he make those throws last year? Especially the deep throw? That pass was perfect and it wasn’t completely wide open either.

All analysis so far indicates he has at least improved a little.

Delance was starting RT and I believe Bleich was the starter at RG...they were handled by the canes DL & LBs and one reason we only had 52 yds rushing..thats not on Franks.

Its the same old college football...you cant run, QB looks worse. Tua looked afwul against Clemson...why? Because the DL of Clemson took away the run game.

Straws wont state that Franks made some really good throws under duress, that wont fit the narrative. But he can thread the needle with his rocket arm. We will have to accept some of the bad plays as no one on the roster is as good. Even Wuerffel made some bad throws and ditto Tebow...it happens. No QB is perfect.

Lmao, You're a grown arse man, who defends yourself on here by writing fkn books of posts but you expect a kid not to do the same on social media? If he didn't you’d be all “What a little scared bitch, cant even defend himself” or some shite.

Last year it was all “he cant throw over 150 yards or cant complete over 50% of his passes.

Had 250 yds with 63% vs a top 3 defense last year that is pretty dang good this year and youre ready for “scorched Earth”
