Theyve fallen past the point of no return. They will never be as good as they were under Fulmer ever again. They simply have fallen too far behind to recruit top notch kids nationally, like they must do to have a shot in the sec. They just don't have the talent base in state and have to compete with too many teams who have much more talent in a very close proximity to their school. Tennessee has seen its glory days come and go, and there will be no more. Sorry not sorry.

Recruiting is not an issue. Butch jones pulled in a top 5 class. We need the right coach and we can be good again. It’s simple as that.

Meh people said the same about LSU from like 1970-2000. Plus y’all haven’t even been truly elite since 2011, nearly a decade now. Louisiana has a massive problem with declining population and will be under water soon anyways. Sadly, it’s a dying state. Tennessee on the other hand is growing into a Southern behemoth of a state.
Pretty sure Tennessee and their “talent base” will be just fine over the next century.
Analytical and scientific trends say otherwise for ole Louisiana.

you haven't paid much attention to the in state talent the past few years have you? Under Fulmer, TN made a living plucking the best players from the rest of the Southeast(and VA) b/c there was usually 1 maybe 2 players that were SEC level recruits then. That's no where near the case now. Nashville is growing like crazy and has become a pretty good recruiting hotbed the past few years. Memphis has been steady, and East TN has turned out several big time prospects the past few years(look no further than Clemson's WR's).
