Not a bad idea to have 16 since 14 is a screwed up number. Yet seems 12 is the best so why not make the bottom 4 teams play in the big 12 the next year? Make them be in the top 6 to get back in the sec knocking out who was on bottom that year.

I could see the subscription world inversely tracking the stadium attendance, we-need-butts-in-the-seats-world...….not in some conspiratorial way that artificially drives live attendance, but right now there is kind of a growing disconnect in price/demand between the two. The in-home experience is increasingly awesome and extremely cheap for the experience and convenience it provides. Meanwhile, mediocre to poor seats in the stadium for the most part cost too much money at their advanced (non-scalped) face price+donation.
It would take some pretty big data points to sort of get your head around, but I could definitely see a future where the price point for nose bleed seats is comparable to a season TV subscription.....or maybe your TV subscription price is lowered if you also buy nose-bleed seats. In any case, the march of non-traditional streaming TV and their big data metrics are going to collide right at the time live attendance declines hit freak out mode when all the boomers are too old or have passed away.

Simply put MO is pumping around 18 million more per year into the SEC network alone than AL.
Pretty sure Alabama and Auburn football bring in far more than that to the SEC in terms of revenue generated, tv rights, and bowl payouts, licensing, etc; offsetting and surpassing what Missouri brings in via the SEC Network. Then you factor in what the 2 bring in via the SEC Network. I highly doubt Missouri generates more revenue for the SEC than those two programs individually and certainly not combined.

Not advocating for one or the other, but think you’re right about money. Cash is likely to follow brands who have large, dedicated fan bases like TX, OU, FSU, etc.
Media contracts will affect the CFB market as a whole but an individual program can increase or decrease the value of a conference. So yeah, definitely don’t add WF.

The issue with the SEC is the B1G.
SEC doesn't want the Big 12 to break up because the options are limited.
The SEC and Big 12 see eye to eye about the ACC needing to go.
ACC actually has more problems than any conference.
If the Big 12 breaks up the SEC will not allow the B1G to pick up Texas and Oklahoma.
SEC would have major issues of this happened.

A&M, although they are annoying makes sense. Missouri on the other hand is the step child but they bring in some big time money.... I think if the SEC were to expand it should definitely be Oklahoma and then I think University of Virginia could be an interesting addition with their recent basketball and baseball success.
UVA will never join the SEC.
UVA is the reason why the original SoCon failed.
It wouldn't be an ACC school and a Big 12 school.
It would be 2 ACC schools or 2 Big 12 schools.
NC State is probably the school that is most likely to end up in the SEC
With Va Tech being #2.
This is if the ACC network fails.
Beware of ND. ND wants to create a Super Conference from coast to coast with California schools, Texas, Oklahoma and some of the ACC including Clemson, Ga Tech, Florida St, UNC, Duke and UVA.

I think ND is the first domino to fall. ACC expansion makes sense, but then who else? UCF?

It's due, mostly, to come up with a way to play teams in your conference more frequently.
HOWEVER, for those that say "downsize" should realize we would go back to MANY CONFERENCES!!!

NO playoffs just to get a conference winner.

ND would never give up their TV rights except for a National conference.
The ACC doesn't have enough leverage and this is why the conference will probably end up going another direction.
You are right about ND being the main piece in future conference realignment.
Their decision will decide a lot.
Either join the ACC as a full member or cause the ACC to fall.
The ACC is screwed because they failed to act on Penn State.
They have haphazardly expanded since then. Without Penn St and ND they do not have the Northeast auidence.
Most likely SEC expansion will come from the ACC.
It will probably be NC State and VA Tech.

I don't think we should have taken Missouri or the A&M faggies !

Texas to the acc fixes a lot of issues with ND football joining. The big 10 and sec can fight over OU

ACC is not going to fold. This is not 2012. In fact, it is in a strong position with ND waiting in the wings.
ND will eventually join the ACC in football and Texas (at ND's insistence) will be the 16th and final member of the Super Conference.
ACC Network will be a success. Its partner is ESPN and it already has a contract with DirecTV
