How many points do you think we'll score?

Prior to today's news I had the score range 21/24 UF, 13/17 Miami...Under 48 points total. I think the defenses will both be the story in the game and both teams will do a good job of limiting the run game. Score could swing another 7 points for either team with a defensive TD.

f you have 2-3 DBs get injured prior to the game in Jax, it sounds like you feel like you have sufficient depth to overcome that... at least in the event that no more injuries occur during the game (and presuming it isn't exclusively at the CB position). That's all I'm really asking.

I mean, it depends on the DBs.

Any team that loses LCB and RCB 1 plus a starting safety is going to have trouble replicating the production.

Obviously we're not planning on losing three starting DBs this year, but in the case that it does happen I think we're in a much better position than last year.

McWilliams was terrible and the backups were freshmen. This year we can at least shift Dean to LCB/RCB and have another non-Freshman take over STAR if need be.

Last year it was literally a one-deep.

I sure as shite don't want to find out, but I do think we've got sufficient depth at DB to not have significant drop-off from 1st to 2nd string at any one position... Between the actual 2 deep at CB and S and the guys on the 3 deep at STAR, DB is a kind of overpopulated and over-talented room in Athens right now it seems.

QB definitely the thinnest position... I don't want to find out whether the camp hype is accurate on Bennett or not.

That is definitely something to be concerned about, not our two-deep at DL or DB (for now).

I don't think anything will happen to Fromm, though, because I feel like Georgia should be able to run at will almost all season long.

You gave a long answer without really answering the question.

Based on 2018, uga was average on the 2 deep at ILB. So much so that losing rice didn't drop off the level of play. We could have also lost another ILB, and the play would have remained consistent.

But when Jordan Davis got hurt in 2018 at NT, there was a significant dropoff in our play. The backups were average, and it showed against Bama and Texas.

It was different on offense in 2018. Our starters went down on the OL and Cade Mays played at an elite level. Jamaree Salyer played at an elite level. We were great on the 2 deep.

How do you see the OL and DL at Florida?

I'll ban bet you that we score more than 21 points.

I did.

I'm fine with what we have right now. This could change down the road. The OL can't stand to lose several bodies but I'm not concerned with depth right now.

This is like the fourth time I've said this.

1.Can't stand to lose several bodies.

2.I'm not concerned with depth right now.

If #1 is true then how could #2 be true?

By definition that would be a depth problem.

Most teams who lose several offensive linemen (about 3 is what I said several posts ago) don't just replace them without much drop off.

If we lose three, sure, I'll be worried -- but I think 90% of the country is worried if three starting offensive linemen go down.

You guys bitch and moan when I write short posts and then ignore the long posts where I explain it in depth. Here, I'll even quote myself:

quote:

Only if we lose about 2 or 3 players on the OL, so far so good. We're fine there, so you can stop praying for problems.

I'd lean more toward two than three (starters), but even if we dropped a lineman or two we have guys that can step in. Thank you for your interest in Florida.

My interest is in SEC CFB and, therefore, Georgia's rivals.

Thank you for bumping this glorious thread.

Like you guys wouldn't come in here to report every time a Florida player took a shite anyway.

Love it. Their coach talks about Georgia, then their team falls into total disarray....then the week they play Miami, they start a thread trolling Georgia. But we are obsessed!

Sir, I nominate you for the Peabody. This is some hard hitting journalism right here. Better than most journalist in the country these days.
