I want you to take a moment, and look up the word "delusion". It's not that serious, man. I don't understand the sensitivity. I redact my comment about you being bias, because that was an assumption.

Not as funny as 44-16

the Music City Bowl was a very pleasant surprise and it left us heading into the offseason with a better taste in our mouths.
If you’re not in the playoffs, bowl games means absolutely nothing, and should no indication of anything involving the future of the program. Teams that just missed the playoffs have no motivation to play a lower ranked team, and often, nowadays, players entering the draft will sit out those bowls.
I don’t judge anything that a team did in a bowl game unless it was a playoff.

My mom's an Auburn fan so I'm familiar with the team. Your attempt to flatter yourself is pedantic.

Usually, yes. But with Malzahn's tendency to shite the bed and not have the team prepared for bowls, it was a refreshing change.

Why has Gus seemingly gone away from what works with his offense re:QB? It’s plain as day that his offense is 100x better with a runner back there.

2. Any idea on the starting quarterback battle between vet Joey Gatewood and five-star freshman Bo Nix?
It's going to be Gatewood. He's got a good arm and displayed decent accuracy. He's a true dual threat with his legs and his frame at 6'5 235
3. The offense returns a couple linemen and some experienced backs. Did it feel like the running game may be coming back this spring?
Our entire offensive line is back and we added some great talent behind Whitlow. Whitlow was called the most improved player this spring as well. So, yes, I think the running game will be back especially if Gatewood is the starter since he can run really well
4. On defense, we know a lot of the big names returning. Any new players emerge?
It's a new group of players at linebacker with Britt, Wooten and McClain. All of them have a good amount of playing experience though. They will be bolstered by 5 star freshman Owen Pappoe

With the bulk of the defensive front coming back, and a couple of projected first-rounders in that group, we may only need the rest of the defense to be alright to compete every week. That said, there are some dudes who have taken the next steps on defense, including KJ Britt at linebacker.
5. The whole “Fire Gus” thing has become a bit of a joke, but is there any sense that the pressure is real for the program right now?
The fan base is losing patience rapidly. With the amount of talent our teams have had over the years, 8 wins should be the floor, not the ceiling

Honestly, I would be fine with either. I think Nix was the more consistent passer and looked really comfortable in the pocket and throwing on the run on A-Day, but we didn't get to see Gatewood's real strength which will be running the ball. Whoever wins the starting job will probably have some struggles at the beginning of the year, and should focus on getting the ball to Seth Williams, because that guy will make QB's look great.

Feel much better about the run game. I was a fan of Boobie last year, he looked really good at times when he was healthy. I expect him to take a step forward and be a 1k caliber back during his sophomore year. Running behind what should be an improved oline (the whole line returns next year) will help, and there is a lot more talent behind him if he can't stay healthy (DJ Williams looks like a legit SEC RB).

As you mentioned, have to feel great about dline with all the talent we have returning, which is the start of any good defense. Names to be on the lookout for this year for possible breakout year: Jamien Sherwood, Smoke Monday, Richard Jibunor, Christian Tutt, and KJ Britt. Most of those guys are highly rated sophomores who got good playing time last year, and are expected to be bigger contributors this year.

Life in the SEC, there is always pressure on the coach. Schedule is difficult and we will be breaking in a first year QB. A lot like 2017 though, having UGA and Bama at home to end the season goes a long way. Auburn could stumble against Oregon and either a Florida or LSU, hit a groove at the end of the year, and if you win those two games anything is possible. The talent is there though, so I would say 9-3 with a win against one of your rivals needs to happen or Gus will definitely feel the heat.

I’m not at all getting my hopes up to championship levels, but this is exactly the type of Auburn team that would go on some ridiculous run in the past. However, I’ll believe it when I see it this time.
Veteran DLines and OLines are a great start. If the QB situation works out, Auburn could/should make a run for it.

The talent is there. If GusBus can control his emotions the team has a good chance to win more than some auburn fans think.

I agree. Their OLine will be the key along with finding a QB and Whitlow's health. They simply have to improve across the Oline to compete, and their QB (Whoever it is) will need to be able to throw enough to unstack the box. A team can win with inexperienced RB's, and Williams is a hidden gem. He'll be a good one.
