This honestly sounds like something that a family member or friend would say to make Justice feel better about his situation. Which..... I understand. A friend isn't going to tell Justice that there isn't room for a 5'8" player with limited skills in the SEC. A friend should have told him that he had a better shot at football though.
The truth is that we have some former fans who have been shite talking Muss since MA was fired and you get this nice convenient excuse for why Justice couldn't it hack it here. Muss has a reputation of processing players.... blah blah blah ---- meanwhile the man that recruited Justice didn't pursue him at St. Johns.
The truth is that roster turnover it's the nature of the beast in college basketball and baseball. Baseball due to the scholarship limits and roster size. Basketball due to players wanting to get playing time and exposure for their NBA future. The days of having the same starting five for 2 or more seasons are LONG gone. Either you are constantly looking for someone better or the player's you have are so good that they are drafted.
In the meantime I'm going to take the word of a player who exploded under the tutelage of Coach Muss vs. a salty transfer:

ADD:
The twitter account who posted those screenshots is a grade A douchebag. It takes somebody with a bitchmade syndrome to screenshot a snapchat convo and post that info on social media in an attempt to rile up the fanbase. Probably fancies himself a media member because he has some rinky dink podcast or youtube channel. He'll probably tell people "man.....I'm just doing my job" meanwhile he ain't making scratch for any of this shite.
Justice should have known that the reaction it would cause but he is probably pissed off a little bit hurt about the situation. Our fans should also be better than to go after Justice because of some dumb comments but when is that going to happen - our fans go after players because they badmouth a f'n stadium.
With all that being said this situation would have been much smaller if some bitch didn't screenshot the convo and post it on twitter.

Are we on anyone that is likely to be a top 100 recruit? A quick scan of 247 says that we're likely whiffing on anyone that is better. Of course we could use the scholarship for a xfer but we need to be building through high school if we're going to get back to the Nolan days.

Assuming there’s no chance at flipping Jaxson Robinson I’d imagine our top priorities are Harrison Ingram, Trey Alexander and Daimion Collins.
Worst case I think we could get Jalen Ricks who is still a really good player. Not very many spots in ‘21. If we somehow miss on all of the above then might as well wait for a transfer.

For the '21 Class? Yeah
At the moment our best chance is probably
Trey Alexander (Top 50)
There are a bunch more that we are in the mix for but probably a longer shot. We have offered 20+ kids in the '21 Class and almost every single one has a composite better than Powell.
Maybe we end up with someone worse but I doubt it.

Yeah, forgot about him as well. He is probably the most likely out of all and you can still argue he is better than Powell.
Would rather take a local kid if the rankings were pretty close anyway.

Daimion Collins.
Since you brought him up I found it interesting this article was posted on 247 today. We are in a fairly good spot and got on him earlier than alot of these programs but going to be hard to fight off the other big schools that are around him.
quote:
One of the most talented bigs in the class of 2021 is Atlanta, Texas native Daimion Collins. The 6-foot-9 big man with long arms, athletic gifts, shot blocking ability, and a unique talent to run the floor, has as high a ceiling as about any player in the class.
Checking in as the No. 23 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite in his class, it is clear that there is a bright future ahead for Collins. With offers from schools such as Texas, Texas Tech, Houston, LSU, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and a host of others, Collins has the attention of college coaches, and planned to be making visits and playing AAU this spring and summer.
Now, however, that plan has changed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
When asked how things are going for him, Collins said, “It’s been kind of boring. I am just trying to keep a basketball in my hand as much as I can and try and work out so I can be prepared if the EYBL does come back.”
If there is one thing that the national lockdown has done, is it has created a lot more time for coaches to sit around and talk to recruits, and that is exactly what is happening for Collins. “I have been getting a lot more phone calls, since we can’t go on any visits,” noted Collins. “I had a few virtual tours, but not many.”
Specifically, Collins says he has participated in virtual tours with Georgia and Arkansas. About those, Collins said, “It was pretty helpful because I can’t go out there for a visit, so being able to see the facilities and being able to talk with the coaches was pretty cool.”
For Collins, he isn’t letting this shutdown impact his timing of his decision. While there is no specific timeframe for when he wants to announce, Collins says that he is just listening to what the coaches have to say right now and letting them show how interested they are.

quote:
10) Jalen Tate, 6-6, 195, G, Grad, Northern Kentucky
2019-20 stats: 13.9 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 3.6 apg
Scout’s take: “He is a game-changer. With his size as a guard, he’s a tough matchup. Very good at getting to the rim, and in the post. Defensively, he can disrupt your offense with his length ands size. Very good rebounder. Not a great 3-point shooter.”

quote:
18) Vance Jackson, 6-9, 229, F, Grad, New Mexico
Stats: 11.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg
Scout’s take: “He’s an extremely versatile forward that can really stretch the floor. His ability to shoot the 3 at a high level makes him dangerous. He’s can play multiple positions.”

quote:
2) Matt Haarms, 7-3, 250, C, Grad, Purdue
Stats: 8.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.0 bpg
Scout’s take: “He can really run the floor and protect the rim. He plays with energy and is a good shooter to the 3-point line, but needs to shoot the 3 at a higher percentage. He is an average rebounder and is also a good passer.”
Schools: Arizona, Arkansas, BC, BYU, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Memphis, Minnesota, Texas Tech, UNCG
quote:
23) Payton Willis, 6-4, 200, SG, RS Jr., Minnesota
Stats: 8.9 ppg
Scout’s take: “Combo guard who can shoot the 3 and has a good mid-range game. Works hard on the defensive end. Sound decision-maker who rarely turns the ball over. Has not shown the ability off the bounce to create for others or get to the rim.”
Schools: Arkansas, Auburn, Marquette, Ole Miss
quote:
24) Drew Buggs, 6-3, 195, G, Grad, Hawaii
2019-20 stats: 9.4 ppg, 5.4 apg, 4.5 rpg
Scout’s take: “The consummate competitor and leader. Really understands his abilities and plays to them. His greatest strength is his ability to be a floor general and set his teammates up. Plays with great pace and rhythm, great court vision and ability to pass. Weakness is his shooting ability.”
Schools: San Diego State, Gonzaga, Arkansas, Xavier, Iowa State, Utah State, Fresno State, UTEP, Colorado State, Northwestern
quote:
31) Quan Jackson, 6-4, 180, G, Grad, Georgia Southern
Stats: 13.6 ppg
Scout’s take: “Very aggressive and athletic wing who is an effective downhill transition player. Needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooter.”
Schools: UAB, Arkansas, Georgia Southern

Jalen Green commits in 3 days, seems like it is Auburn. Memphis would be much better for him I think.
He's not gonna be fun. Tate get ready to D up.
