I heard Bill Lucci on the radio today say that Scott Woodward was the best AD A&M ever had no question.

Kyler Murray was a top 10 baseball pick, Heisman Winner and he’s going to be a 1st round QB. Von Miller maybe? That would even be embarrassing with his quotes about LSU and A&M.

Is the best player/AD in A&M’s history guys that didn’t even want to be there?

Dickerson made them buy him a car and still didn’t go there.

You could make an argument for Woodward, and I’d absolutely listen.

Kyler Murray, however, I wouldn’t place in our top 5. Maybe not even top 10.

Or you could name one better? You would know about A&Ms history I don’t.

I’m not sure I could (it’s why I said I’d listen to any argument that Woodward has been our best).
Some would likely toss Bill Byrne’s name in there.
Maybe John David Crow.

Wait, you just said a punter was a better player than a Heisman trophy winning QB / top 10 MLB draft pick?

A punter? Seriously?

Only Johnny Football was able to do what Murray did this year, which is single handily take over games and propel his team to victory.

There are a few studs on that list, but besides Manziel, none took over multiple games and propelled aTm to victory. The bad part is Murray did it at Oklahoma

Every team wishes they had that MVP punter to rely on to punt them to victory

I can respect your opinion.
Apart from Crow, I saw all of those guys play.
So my perspective is probably different.

Don’t get me wrong—Kyler Murray is a heckuva player.
I just don’t consider him to be in our upper echelon of guys.

I understand that. Murray struggled at aTm and found the perfect offensive fit for him at Oklahoma. Only Manziel had anywhere near the impact on games that Murray had this year.

Murray and Manziel are very similar talents except one is a head case.
