The campus is pretty nice actually, but I’ll admit I was taken aback when I visited just how barren the surrounding area is. The town is literally surrounded by miles of empty fields. It’s a lot like many of the small towns in Kansas and Nebraska.

wouldn't that be the case around College Station as well.

i remember there not being much of anything outside of Houston coming from Louisiana.

This isn’t unique to Auburn. FWIW it’s doubled in population from the time I graduated.
