Mathis probably looks better that Fields did THIS spring. 4 of 13 with many bad passes and sacks.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I get most people here really don’t like Fields, but to say that Mathis has looked even close to as good as Fields did last spring is insane.

So I watched the first half.

Couple of things...
Ohio state is having to completely rebuild their OL and WR Corp.

Ohio Stares 1st D returns everyone and their backup D ( who is who Baldwin took 90% of his snaps against) is awful. Really bad. Maybe as good as UGAs 3rd team... maybe.

Baldwin completely struggled against the 1st team as well.

Defense returns 9 seniors and 13 that played at least 350 snaps.

Fields has had 15 practices with team

Plus Offense has a new coordinator.

I know a lot of y’all hate the kid.. but the fact is either the haters are correct or the rest of the entire football world is who thinks is gonna be great from Vegas to the NFL scouts... one group will be correct. And I’m sure they be plenty crowing on here if the are right and the world will call him a bust; just wonder how many will give him his due if he ends up setting college football on fire.... my guess is not many of you.
