If Birmingham could come up with a way to accomodate the RVs I think it will host the SEC Tourney.
Wait, this is serious? RVs are seriously taken into consideration, in 2019?

Go back to divisions. Alternate Tournament Hosts between East and West Division winners every year.
IIRC back when they did the tournament like this, there were two separate tournaments, at least for a period of time. But I do agree that I think attendance would be every bit as good, if not better, having them on campus. However, I do like how the larger minor league fields prepares players for Omaha.

read somewhere in the last year or so they are expanding Hoover Met to add more baseball fields and build a convention center type place
They already did add a convention center thing. Not 100% sure when they built it, but it's been there for at least over a year now

And who in the hell purchases an RV now besides our elderly group? Economically, they dont make sense to have now-a-days.

Great point

Regions field is beautiful, but I wish the stadium was oriented where the business district's tall buildings were the backdrop behind the batters eye.

Coolray field would be a good spot

yeah it's been there for at least 2 years. It was definitely there in 2017 last time I went. That thing doesn't make Hoover any less of a dump. But really it's the location of the Hoover Met. You're in the middle of suburbia, so there's nowhere to go in between games except to a giant parking lot.

Unfortunately yes, and it's mainly LSU fans with the RVs. I tip my hat to our traveling fans but this RV excuse has gotten stale to me. If Memphis can host the NBA Playoffs, multiple large festivals, etc downtown, surely they could accommodate a college baseball tournament. I may be biased being from Memphis, but Autozone makes too much sense not to ever have it there. It's within 6 hours or less of Arkansas, State, LSU, Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and Missouri. And it's right in the middle of downtown with plenty of dining and entertainment options in between sessions.

The reason this will not move is the ease of parking at The Met and the campground as well.
I think the main reason is just comfort. It's been there since the late 90s and they haven't had any problem with it there, so they won't consider somewhere may be better or equally as good. But for a sport like baseball, I think they should spread it around so more people in SEC territory can attend.

They've already done this. The facility is ridiculous.

Regions Park seats 8,500
The Met seats 14,000 for the final rounds.
Saturday/Sunday Attendance
2015 - 10,949/10,590 (Van/UF)
2016 - 13,821/8,352 (A&M/UF)
2017 - 10,792/13,128 (LSU/Ark)
2018 - 10,381/14,126 (OM/LSU)
They're never moving that to a stadium to holds 8,500

It needs to be at AutoZone Park

Regions is a tiny park. Why lose money? The SEC tourney pulls a large crowd.
ETA
George covered it. Also, the met staff reconfigures the park to match TD Amairtrade. It is the initial indicator of which teams will preform well in the CWS.

The tourney pulls a big crowd for a couple games, but most the games are nowhere near capacity. I get the argument, but I think you may see bigger crowds for the games during the week if the stadium was closer to (in) downtown Birmingham, so total attendance for the entire tournament may see very minimal drop-off, if any. Obviously that's me speculating

AutoZone Park would sell out all 12000 seats for The MS schools, Arkansas, Tennessee, Vandy, LSU, and Missouri games.
Florida is already traveling far; as are USCe, Texas A&M, Kentucky, etc.
Moving it to AutoZone is an amazingly easy solution. Only people in Alabama are opposed to it...and that is for clearly ulterior motives
Edit - not Missouri. Why did I include them as a baseball fanbase?
