The foul didn't cause the double dribble...

I'm over the loss. It is what it is, but you're wrong that a foul caused a double dribble. I know the ones saying this are the ones that needed Auburn to lose to keep their own sanity. So be it, but he dribbled the ball off his back foot before Brown touched him.

That ref is watching him the entire time.

It is amazing they missed the double dribble. Even more amazing from that angle.

It wasn’t missed, he just didn’t call it. Big difference imo

If someone double dribbles and you don't call it...isn't that a missed call?
A foul...something that impedes a player is subjective. Double dribble isn't.

This gif literally shows Jerome being grabbed. You can’t get that upset about the double dribble when there arguably could have been a foul call.

A missed call to me is an obvious call that a ref wasn’t in position to see. He was in position, he saw the double dribble and didn’t call it.

Implying conspiracy.
He's read too many LSU fans' posts about referees.
Probably a big fan of James Carville, too.

That's the point though...a foul is a subjective decision. Grabbing ones jersey isn't a foul. It would be a foul if the ref subjectively determined it impeded the offensive players ability to play.
A double dribble is a double dribble. No judgment needed.

They need to read a rule book. When the ball bounced off his foot and then hit the floor. He is no longer in possession of the ball. He can then pick it up and dribble it. There was no double dribble.

Semantics I guess. In basketball some rules are subjective and others aren't. Double dribble should be called when it happens. The decision to a call a foul is on the ref.

If they do call the foul there they don’t get to inbound as close to the goal as they were. There also would be more time on the clock on our last shot. The odds of the game ending the same way are slim if they did call the jersey grab.

It doesn’t matter if the foul caused the double dribble. Auburn didn’t get screwed.

Maybe you need to read the rule book. He dribbled off his foot and lost possession but the defensive player never touched the ball. By rule he can no longer advance the ball. Once he began his dribble again it should have been AU ball.
