When the ball bounced off his foot and then hit the floor. He is no longer in possession of the ball. He can then pick it up and dribble it. There was no double dribble.
Umm... that was not my point
The ball has to be deflected before you can pick it up and dribble it.

My statement, or the argument Auburn fans are making?

He was held which is a foul but all the rules on double dribble say when the player is in possession of the ball. Which he was not. There is no rule that I can find about if he loses possession off of his own foot. It just states when in possession, which he clearly was not.
The same rules official that said, by rule, the foul called on Guy was indeed a foul also said that was a double dribble. Who cares if you can't find it.
The only way you can advance the ball after losing your dribble is if the defender touched the ball causing you to lose possession.

Arguably is the appropriate word. You could argue a foul should be called, but a double dribble happened.
And instead of calling the foul, the refs let it go when it caused a double dribble. Net zero. Play on.

That “foul” didn’t cause a double dribble. He had already dribbled it off his foot before any contact was made.

There was no "foul". A ref has to a call a foul for it to be a foul. A double dribble happened...the ref didn't blow the whistle.

There was no double dribble.
There is no game for Auburn tomorrow night.

It wasn’t missed, he just didn’t call it. Big difference imo
In all sports they need to start fining or firing refs for big plays they screw up. With an outside committee or coaches voting on the reviews and level of punishment.

Auburn’s coach is a legit mob rat.

If the player used both hands to pick up the ball after if bounced off his foot, then yeah, it's a double dribble. Check your rules.

I know what a double dribble is, smart guy.

Defender touched ball. No double.

Y’all think grabbing a jersey is allowed in basketball?
He grabbed his jersey on purpose at 4.0 specifically to get a foul call, and the ref still didn’t call it. The refs helped Auburn, and Auburn still choked. :charmin:

Welp, I can't argue against video evidence. I stand corrected.

The ball isn’t even close to Brown’s hand, but that’s irrelevant. Brown fouled him before the double dribble. Auburn choked, and their melt is tits.

You just argued in a circle.
No need for you to troll in hopes of getting a melt. William found a pic from the best angle which clearly shows the Auburn defender touched the ball.
