Has Vandy lowered its admission requirements for Athletes over the years?

Me and a friend of mine got to talking about this the other day when we noticed that Vandy had been throwing out offers more in Mississippi to Mississippi HS kids and even offered a MS JUCO kid a scholarship recently.

I'm assuming student "ATHLETES" can get accepted into Vandy with much less than average students who have 30 act and 4.0 GPA.

No. There are tons of HS and Juco kids that meet those requirements.

Let's be honest here:

People go to Vanderbilt because they couldn't get into an actual Ivy League school (or Stanford/Duke).

I am 16x smarter than ANYONE at Vandy.

They've more or less always had the same process that every school has for athletes... they make exceptions for the sports where they need to...

This was a decent write up from a few years ago showing academic performance across all sports vs by individual sport: LINK

Not sure that they've lowered them substantially, but perhaps they are just getting more aggressive in their recruiting efforts. I didn't think they used to offer JUCOs though? Maybe I'm wrong there?
