I feel like we need 2 things in order to compete with the Dodgers:

Folty needs to come back and be his old self

And AA needs to go out and pick up a stalwart reliever, perhaps a closer and throw LJ into a setup role.

Agreed, let’s get this guy in some Braves gear!

From where? Let's be real here, bullpens across the majors suck this year.
The Biddle/Vizcaino trade for Swarzak (and cash) looks genius right now. Biddle has been even worse for Seattle than he was for the Braves and if Swarzak was available last night we likely sweep the lolMets.

Seattle dropped Biddle. Rangers picked him up and sent Shelby Miller down to the farm

Props to the front office for the Swarzak trade.

Biddle w/Seattle : 11 IP, 9.82 ERA, 20 hits allowed
Swarzak w/Braves: 17 IP, 0.52 ERA, 8 hits allowed

Sounds good in theory but I sadly don't think Folty has the mental toughness to be a closer.

He does have the stuff to be an effective late innings hurler though.

Yeah I have thought for a while that Folty will end up being a nice reliever.

I actually hate that for Miller. I remember watching his near no hitter against the Marlins thinking he was going to be a cornerstone of the rotation for a long time to come.

Then he got traded for Ender and Dansby that next off season and suddenly couldn't pitch.

Speaking of former Braves pitchers, the Padres DFAed Matt Wisler.

So I’m headed to my first Braves game at SunTrust tomorrow. Any recommendations on what to take in before the actual game? We plan on being there several hours before first pitch.

Age range? You can really just walk around the battery and walk into whatever you’re attracted to. Antico is my favorite food there. Punch bowl social is pretty cool. Sports and social has (what I was told) the biggest indoor TV in the USA. Cru is a wine bar if the wife or s/o is with you. Give yourself 45 min or so to walk around the stadium. The hall of fame area behind home plate is really cool. If you have kids, let em play in the outfield kids zone. Chophouse is a good place to watch the game if you have tickets up top but I’ve yet to sit in a bad seat ...still haven’t been in the 400s though. I’m sure it will be packed tomorrow. Enjoy.

Braves lost 2-0.

Watching the Angels/Rangers game and former Brave Tommy la Stella just took a Jermaine Dye-like injury off of a foul ball.

Two trainers are helping him off of the field and he's not putting any weight on his injured leg.

Well that was a fun game to attend! Thanks for the suggestions. The place was rocking and so were the bats. Hope Soroka can win the series for us tomorrow.

Braves beat the Phillies to win the series and climb to a 6 game lead... over the nationals. That overpaid team up north has fallen to 3rd place in the division.

Is it weird that I’m more worried about winning the marlins series than I was the Phillies series?
