Is it cause he has the same first name as the lead singer's last name? That's all I've got.

Sorry Newcomb, your W was just blown.

They usually play the old school Batman theme for JT Riddle.
My all-time favorite was playing the Duff Gardens song for Matt Duffy.

Thankfully we locked down Acuna for 8 years though and the battery is rocking.
We got this

Swanson with the walkoff single 4-3

Dansby has homered in every game I’ve worn his jersey.

He's having a good year so far. I don't think we can keep Donaldson at 2 and Acuna at 4 if they continue to stink it up.

They announced the pitchers against the Rockies, starting tomorrow night, during the post game show: Julio, Fried and Gausman.

Julio in Coors Field is a horrifying thought

The scariest part of Julio's game will probably be over quick, the first inning.
If today was really deciding Newcomb's starting spot, I'd guess he didn't hurt himself.

Has looked better this season than any of the previous 3 or 4 years. His fb velocity has ticket up a bit and he still gets good movement on his pitches. Not as worried about him unless he loses that velo he's been rocking to start the season.

Braves starters' ERA: 2.83 (6th in MLB)
Braves relievers ERA: 6.82 (24th in MLB)
It's obviously early but the Braves could have a top 10 offense, top 10 defense, and top 10 ten starting rotation. And a bottom 10 bullpen. Will the Braves make any move to fix the glaring weakness on the team or will they wait and see if the current guys can get it done?

Unfortunately, it looks like we could have some series competition from our own division in terms of shoring up the bullpen with future signings. As bad as our bullpen has been, the Nats have been even worse:
quote:
"The Nationals bullpen entered the day with the worst ERA in the Majors at 9.64, which rose to 10.02 after Saturday's meltdown."

So far all the Braves are talking about today is the 45 year anniverary of ...

Now they're talking about tonight!

The Braves are still losing in the division to the phillies so I was hoping they'd lose and check the score before the Braves start. Ew, guess it means siding with the gnats in this one, they actually are winning by 2 halfway through.

I have a feeling we'll be rooting for most NL East teams vs the Phillies this year.
At least until they get so far ahead that we're battling with the Mets, Nats, and the NL for Wild Card spots.
