My results:
Neutral
You`re not Northern, Southern, or Western, you`re just plain -American-. Your national identity is more important than your local identity, because you don`t really have a local identity. You might be from the region in that map, which is defined by this kind of accent, but you could easily not be. Or maybe you just moved around a lot growing up.

Its blocked at work but definitely gotten more neutral as I've gotten older and advanced more in my career as that is a must to remain professional.
But the drunker I get... yea it comes out.

Southern for me. I don't have a particularly pronounced accent I think, but people from other countries all think I'm from Texas or the Deep South. I can pick out the differences from my accent and a true Texas or Deep South accent however.
Of course I had a group of friends from Ireland try to point out the many differences in their accents but they all sounded generic real world Irish to me. Real world Irish not sounding very much at all like Hollywood Irish it should be noted.

Neutral. I knew it would be before I took the quiz. I have always tried to train myself to enunciate words properly. It's weird though because at times my southern roots come through in my speech, but most often I speak with a non-regional dialect. Would come in handy if I ever wanted to read the news I guess.

I think it's not so much the accent at times but certain things.
Like sneakers... to me and most North and South Carolinians--- Tennis Shoes.
Up here a big sandwich, is a Hero. To me it's a Sub.
I'll think of more but those are the 2 big ones.

Right, like the pop or soda question.

I know that in certain areas of the south, mostly the older folk soda is just coke.
It baffles me too even in NC, because that's literally where Pepsi was created.
Georgia I know it's always just Coke.

I was just about to edit my statement to pop, soda, or coke after some thought. My grandmother referred to every fizzy drink as a coke.

Even if the place only carried pepsi (which is pretty common in NC)

Neutral. Makes sense as I'm from Indiana. Still, I get accused of having an accent quite often there. Ohioans have told me "You aren't from around here are you"

Yeah St. Louis and KC have a noticeable difference in accent in my experience. The NYT dialect test usually gives me Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Springfield, MO as my top 3 cities.

I hail from the south’s south, so my accent is very pronounced. Always a good conversation starter at bars when traveling.

Its weird, folks often have a very negative view on Southerners but by God they love our accents. My friends from Europe all say they adore Southern accents.
Also, I see that was your first post. Welcome aboard.
