But it does. Those 2 schools played 2 consecutive years @ the same location. UGA played 2 consecutive years @ Aub.. Let Aub. do 2 consecutive years @ UGA & then BOTH schools get their in-state rival road game the year DSOR is a home game.

This can not be done until after the non-permanent cross divisional rotating schedule expires in 2025. It will also require that ut play at Bama those same two consecutive years.

The issue could have been avoided by the SEC if they had scheduled Bama at ut in both 2012 and 2013. They chose to schedule UGA at the barn in those years. One or the other had to be done in order to schedule UGA and Bama. With the new format that game could not be scheduled without an unequal number of Home and Away games for each because UGA and Bama were both playing their permanent cross divisional opponent at home in odd numbered years and away in even numbered years.

You should email your AD and voice your complaints to him if it's such a disruption in your life.

I'm afraid us Georgia fans are just going to have to come to grips with this, all thanks to McGarity. We will never get that home game back, Auburn got the schedule change they wanted while we get nothing and if someone wants something else McGarity will give it up without a fight.

This is what happens when your AD's best talent is bending the knee and an administration that likes it so much they give him an extension.

The powers that be at UGA did up the game for the football program but you have to wonder if they really give a frick about the athletic department.

If they did McGarity would have been gone long ago.

Are Georgia fans getting tight about this game because UGA are perennial slow starters?

Yes. But they can't JUST undo what they did in 2012 and 2013. There was a reason they did what they did.

Look at it this way. If the SEC JUST reversed what they did in 2012 and 2013 with UGA and Auburn, then every time Bama and UGA played the home team would have 5 SEC home games and 3 SEC away games. And the visitor would have 3 SEC Home games and 5 SEC away games. EVERY time!

McGarity didn't have a damn thing to do with it. The SEC had to make a change to enable them to schedule Bama-UGA without both Bama and UGA having an unequal number of SEC home and away games. Unfortunately they picked the wrong schools in which to make the change. They should have scheduled Bama at ut in 2012 and 2013. They will get if fixed.

frick Georgia. Its good for Auburn to have UGA earlier in the season so that we dont potentially have to play Georgia twice in 3 weeks if AU makes the SECCG.

That's funny right there. 5 loss teams get into the conference championship game in the ACC. Not SEC.

Everyone just needs to take a deep breath and relax. What they are doing now is just a temporary fix to a problem they can not permanently fix until 2025. Then if it is not fixed everyone can go back to moaning, groaning, and bitching.

Really? That's the best you got? The UGA has gotten in 4 times the past 10 years to our 3.

Let’s be real dawgs, Mcgarity got punked by Auburn. Not every AD can be as sharp and handsome as Greene, though, so don’t give Mcgarity a hard time. He’s still no Bill Battle. Nevertheless, Greene is playing multi dimensional chess while other ADs are playing connect the dots. Give Mcgarity a couple years and then swing for the fences: Jay Jacobs.

some interesting quotes from good old Vince.

quote:

“The decision to move it was very understandable,” Dooley said. “To me, the toughest thing I ever had to do at Georgia was play our two biggest rivals, Florida and Auburn, back to back. I vowed one day when I became athletic director, I’d change that, which I’ve done.”

So UGA did this exact same thing decades ago? Yet, when Auburn does it...............

Auburn has been a 5 loss team 7 out of the past 10 seasons.

Own it.
Wear it
Embrace it.

And Kirby averages 3 loses per year as a HC. And is 4-5 against the West.

Once again, it was Auburn's whining about playing both on the road the same year.
