I'm going to be in Columbia for work the last week of the month and see that they have a mid-week game against Appalachian State. Would my assumption that tickets to a mid week game are pretty easy to come by? Any way to score some free seats? Best place to sit, etc...?

Also, any tips from USC fans regarding places to eat/grab a beer?

TIA

People almost always sell tickets outside the park

Thirsty Fellow. It's beside the Colonial Life Arena and a short distance to Founders Park.

I second Thirsty Fellow, it's probably the closest spot to Founders Park and they have good food and draft beer selection. Also a great spot to sit outside if it's nice outside.

Like the other USC posters have said, Thirsty Fellow is the place to go before baseball games. It's also close to the gameday shuttle parking lot, which is a plus if you would like to save a few dollars by not parking at the stadium.

Someone needs to start up a bar called "Field of Beers."

Welcome in advance to Founders Park to see the Yardcocks play.

I’m usually at all the games if I’m not traveling or on vacation somewhere so, if you want, I can show you around.

How many will you have with you? If it’s just you then you’re welcome to sit with me, I’ve got season tickets.

ETA: You didn’t happen to write a book about Saturday Traditions in the SEC 15 or 20 years ago or so, did you? If so, we’ve met. I know the guy was a big LSU fan is why I thought it might be one and the same, you?

Yes. At the absolute worst, you can walk right up to the box office and buy at the gate. Buy the cheapest ticket and go find an empty seat in one of a good section.

Third base line is my favorite part of the park since the sun sets behind you.

There could be anywhere up to and including 15 of us coming. Thanks for the invite though.

No I am not the same person who wrote the book. In fact I wasn't even aware that the book existed until you mentioned it.

Just got back from Columbia and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The game was great and there were PLENTY of seats available. Ended up being about 8 of us that went. Sat first row in the left field bleachers... almost caught one, but it bounced off the wall instead of getting into the seats.

Stayed in the Vista area and that was extremely nice. Bunch of good places to eat, and local brews to be had. Especially enjoyed dinner at "Motor Supply Company," beers at "Columbia Craft" and some ax throwing at Craft Ax Throwing.

Nice little place you guys have there, although I was disappointed with what I saw from a talent perspective in your females... not great

Motor supply is a great place to eat...changing the menu daily keeps things fresh...as for females...if you stay for a weekend series then hit the vista or 5 points on a Friday or Saturday night you will change your mind haha
