Antonio Alfano - Overrated or Hidden Gem?

I was sure 247 had none other than Alabama's own Antonio Alfano ranked way too high, but I think I might be wrong.
Yes, he played on a mediocre team in a mediocre league while other kids are competing against the very best in the country. His highlights look like what I'd imagine Gulliver playing the Lilliputians would look like (running over 5'8" left tackles and such).
But the kid looked very good in AA game practices and drills, although I don't remember him being called much in the game.
Question for the Bama fans: What do you expect from this Alfano? Will he see some time, become a star, or just redshirt and wait his turn?

Alfano is regarded as the #1 player in the country. Has a similar skill set and build. Why wouldn’t that be the expectation? I mean, I know you’re trying to troll. But still.

I very seldom troll. And he's not regarded as the #1 player in the country by most people. By some, yes.
I was legitimately asking because I hadn't seen much of him until the last couple of months, and I wanted to know the opinion of people who would have paid much more attention.

How can you be underrated or a hidden gem as the number one prospect by 247 and a 5 star by the composite?
This makes no sense.

He's a Composite top five and #1 overall by 247 Sports. So yeah, I think a lot is expected based on his ratings. And that was the case when he committed to Alabama last year.

Because the OP is trying to subtly troll.

He’s better than Nolan Smith and there’s nothing you can do about it

Alfano was the #1 target on Saban's board.

Theres nothing subtle about it.
Alfano earned his spot imo. He was dominate against the best of the best and i personally hold him responsible for 247 forgetting Kardell Thomas was a top 75 or higher kid for over 2 years but one week of practice drops him to 249. He flew up across the board in all the rankings. Nothing phony about his ranking. 247 wouldve had him higher, earlier, if not for some off field stuff they held against him too much.
I personally believe Stingley is the most transcendent talent in the class but he was on campus showing out instead of at an all star game. His holding his top spot on Rivals and actually rising to #2 on 247 kind of bears that especially considering Alfanos position being the tiebreaker on 247.
I think Alfano is gonna be outstanding and early. Hes a beast. Better at this age, at this position than Allen. We will see if he works like Allen.

2 different positions. Nolan Smith will be a terror coming off the edge.
So ask yourself, Will Antonio Alfano be better than Travon Walker? We already saw whose bigger and stronger when the two of spared against each other.

Saban has a strong track record for developing five star players to the potential and getting them to the league especially on the defensive side of the ball. There’s no reason to not expect him to be an all-SEC player no matter the competition he faced in high school.
Not all programs could say the same thing. Byron Cowart comes to mind as he was not able to adjust to the new level of SEC competition from his weak high school league. But I would think Saban can avoid that problem.

By that logic Antonio Alfano is head and shoulders better than Nolan Smith, right?

Do you want to add Derek. Stingley to this conversation. While you're at it let's include every SEC commit.

Leal is awesome as well.
I am so fascinated by recruiting, but the one part that’s frustrating is how 90% of fans feel like half their recruiting class is underrated despite never watching film of the players ahead of their guys.
You can have a difference of opinions, but to say one is clearly right on so many players is more than likely not correct.

What the hell are you on about now?
Your initial post referenced a 3 second Twitter video where Alfano and Walker faced each other in a drill.
Alfano and Smith faced off in that same drill and Alfano pushed him around with ease.
What does that have to do with Derek Stingley and other SEC commits?

They also both play defense so this doesn’t matter.

Hence the rolling eyes emoji.
He's been referencing this one Twitter video for weeks as to why Walker is the better player. It's ludicrous.
