Is Alabama an underrated state?

Great beaches on the coast, Buccees just built a new location down there.
Birmingham seems to have a lot going for it lately. Especially the nice suburbs. Same with Huntsville.
Northeast Alabama is very nice. Mountains and all the outdoor opportunities.
The economy seems on the uptick. Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and of course Mercedes Benz.
It seems to me, if you’re in the right part of AL, life is good. Especially lately. Am I right?

There are some very nice places to live and work in Alabama. Fairhope is a great little coastal town.

Depends on where you initially have it rated.

It’s definitely not at the bottom of the barrel with Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. It’s closer to Georgia than those 3. If they play their cards right they could be a top 25 state in the next 10 years.

For those that know -- Are NWA & the greater Fayetteville area & NE Alabama & the greater Huntsville area fairly similar?

Fairhope is mass quantities of old people and milf's who got the house in the divorce.
A whole lotta upper middle class, suburban 11am drinking of a whole lotta natty lite. Natty lite because no matter how uppity those fairhope frickers think they are, they're still one bad decision away from rediscovering their natural alabama white trash state of being.

I don't know about fayetteville but huntsville is more akin to silicon valley than any cities or towns in the south.

Huntsville is an Engineers playground. HiTech companies everywhere + a military base and NASA.

Most Deep South states are nice. Until you encounter the people living there. That’s what ruins it. For example, Louisiana is a pretty nice state. Good scenery and diverse landscapes. The trashy people and corrupt politicians ruined it though.
The same could be said for Mississippi, and most of Arkansas (excluding NWA.

That’s not a broad, sweeping brush at all.

Dude, you're from Montgomery. Basing your opinion on that is like basing your opinion of Texas on Port Arthur.

Hahaha or being from Bogalusa and saying Louisiana sucks.

I was born there and moved away when I was less than three weeks old. I wouldn't be so bold as to say I'm from there. Just drove through the state and spend the night or something more times than I can count

Hell, the longest I stayed there at once was Air Force field training at Maxwell AFB.

One of these things is not like the others.
