Who are the LBs that will suit up come spring? Any chance that any returning LBs lose their job to younger players? If so who, and who will replace them?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Mack Wilson is gone.....every mock Ive seen has him in the 1st round.
Moses
Kaho/Benton
would be my early guess for next year

At this point, Mack is far from a sure thing to declare early.

Must be a down year for LBs.

I can tell you with a high degree of certainty that Shane Lee will play next season...assuming no injuries of course.

I hope Mack stays for his sake and ours - unlike some I don't think he's bad - but he's got flaws that guys like Mosley, Hightower, Foster didn't have. Physically he's very gifted but his instincts leave a lot to be desired, particularly against the run, and he gets lost in coverage. When he knows what to do, he's typically very good in space. I liken him somewhat to Evans who was seen more as a freak athlete and heat seeking missile than a cerebral player for his first three years. I think that last year here really helped Evans become a more complete player.
ETA - I also think the hire of Golding for his Louisiana recruiting ties contributed to a lack of development from those inside backers this season. I don't know that they were coached terribly well. Golding played DB and until this season had never been a linebackers coach. Hopefully he grows as a coach this offseason and our players will develop a little more next year.

Kaho, Moody, Benton, and McMillan are the returning backups at ILB. Obviously Moses has at least one more year. McMillan has graduated, and while it's impossible to say for sure, a grad transfer to a spot where he can play would not surprise me. Kaho, Moody, and Benton will all be sophomores (Benton a rSO) next year.
Jennings has a year of eligibility remainging at OLB but has graduated and may go on (I tend to think he will). Then you have Anoma coming back, as well as Lewis and Allen coming back from injury. Latu and Parks are there as well but seems pretty far down the depth chart ATM. I believe both Latu and Parks qualified for redshirts this season.
Shane Lee, King Mwikuta, and Kevin Harris are early enrollees who will be here for spring practidce. Lee is ILB all the way. Mwikuta and Harris look more like OLB to me. I've seen some speculation that Mwikuta could work inside but that seems like a stretch to me based on his frame (listed 6'5, 240 right now).
*I'm assuming rumors of Ben Davis moving on are true.

I think there's a decent chance that Mack and Jennings will both come back. Both could be first rounders next year, IMO.

I feel like Jennings, based on his injury history, is more likely to go. I don't see him as a first rounder, but I doubt he'd drop past the 2nd. Wouldn't be surprised with either decision for either guy.

Not impressed with Goldings coaching or recruiting, just my opinion.

I think Mack's biggest issues are #1 playing out of position (should be a WIL/Mack) and #2 does not have the massive nose in front of him that keeps OG's from getting to him. Hs skill set does translate pretty well to a 4 man front at the NFL level but if you look at his upper body bulk, he needs to pump it up hard in the weight room.
He does not handle a big blocker between him and the ball carrier well. Tries to out athlete them rather than blow then up. Typical of a WIL who is best at scraping rather than attacking.
Lee (and maybe To'oto'o) should be better at stuffing the point of attack.

his mom says he is coming back. Plus he has not been a dominate guy this year. Has missed a lot of assignments and has problems shedding blocks.

I've posted about this kid before Aaron Appleton. A friend of mine who coaches in the MCAC Juco Conference said he tore it up this year checked his twitter he's garnered a lot of accolades. Holds a Southern Miss offer too, I think in preparation of Mack wilson leaving for the draft and needing immediate impact player at ILB or even depth we missed on Dean which was important. Watched his film kids legit obviously no offer yet but would be a quality fit I know coach Welton has been in contact with him , Theres even nickel back footage of him even though he's a 230 pound Linebacker which is insane the kid has game definitely think this could be a late Gem (ex Jaylen Moody, Josh Jacobs)
Check his tape out his tape, just want some thoughts on his ability always fascinated by the under the radar guys

Yeah I would like to see Saban move Tosh to LB coach again. They played much better with him than Goulding.
