He broke into the secondary last night and looked kind of slow. Almost like his ankles were taped so tighlty that he didn’t have good range of motion.

Not that fast. When he broke in the secondary I was wishing it was either of our other backs because it would've been a greater gain.

I think in two years his longest run is about 30 yards, and it's not because he's never gotten into the open field. He's just not that fast.

He ran 4.66 before he came to Alabama.. I'm guessing he is probably close to 4.59 somewhere...

He's a really big dude

I guarantee he runs sub 4.7, he seems a tad slower than Henry who ran 4.54 I believe

I'd guess 4.65

Yeah, he’s WAY slower than Henry. Henry has elite top end speed. Granted it takes him longer to get to top end than smaller guys.

Najee is a great back with mediocre speed. Wonder if he could shed 5-10 lbs and get quicker for next year. We will need him to be a stud in 2019.

Yeah, Najee isn't fat at all. He's put together. But, he needs to work on his speed this off season. He and Brian Robinson should be a great 1-2 punch!

Henry never lost a race to the endzone. I cant recall him ever being chased down once he broke free.

Meanwhile Najee has never won a foot race. He really does lack ideal speed.

I agree that he’s a very good back. Running backs don’t have to have elite speed to be effective. Shaun Alexander was pretty darn good and wasn’t super fast. I think Najee will have a big year next year.

I think Bo is faster than Najee. I remember Bo in the open field against Tennessee and Clemson and he has more speed than Najee.

Najee has been good but IMHO hasn’t lived up to his billing as the #1 or #2 back in America in his class and a composite 5 star. He’s still got time to prove me wrong and has seemed to have his best games in the post season so I’m hoping he goes off against Clemson.

The thing about big RB's 40 times is that they can be very misleading if they are not timed in full pads. Some, like Henry, don't seem to be affected by pads at all, while others it causes a noticeable difference.

I agree with you. Najee came in with a LOT of hype. And, in my opinion, Brian Robinson has flashed elite talent with fewer carries than Najee.
