I think it's more of the not wanting UF to be good so not admitting they look like a team progressing well in a coaches first year.

Most satisfying sec bowl win for me outside of Bama-ou. Now we just need lsu to beat ucf and I want Kentucky to beat penn state. Don’t know what will happen in ms. State/ Iowa game

They had been an albatross for UF lately. It was nice to get that over with. Getting to 10 wins was even better.
Beat FSU, Michigan, 10 wins this year. Beat Miami to start next season and UF will make recruits keep their eyes open.
Mullen has done a great job of changing the perspective of Florida. He needs to keep it rolling and things could be awesome as a fan.

Unless we are talking about the very salty yaw yaws I think we were generally proud of Florida.
