You want to compare apples to apples?

Recruiting ranking 247 composite
2001 (LSU, UT, AU, Ark, UGA -5) 2nd in east
2002 (UT, UGA -2, UF) 2nd in east
2003 (UF, LSU, UGA -3, UT) 2nd in east
2004 (LSU, UF, UGA -3, UT) 2nd in east
2005 (UT UGA -2, UF, LSU) 2nd in east
2006 (UF, UGA -2, LSU, AU) 2nd in east
2007 (UF, UT, LSU, SC, UGA -5) 4th in east
2008 (Bama, UF, UGA -3, LSU) 2nd in east
2009 (LSU, Bama, UGA -3, UF, UT) 1st in east
2010 (UF, Bama, AU, UT, LSU, UGA -6) 3rd in east
2011 (Bama, AU, UGA -3, LSU, UF) 1st in east
2012 (Bama, UF, UGA -3, AU, LSU) 2nd in east
2013 (Bama, UF, LSU, OM, T A&M, AU, UGA – 7) 2nd in east
2014 (Bama, LSU, TA&M, AU, UT, UGA – 6) 2nd in east
2015 (Bama, UT, LSU, UGA- 4, AU) 2nd in east
2016 (Bama, LSU, OM, UGA – 4, AU, UF, UT) 1st in east
2017 (Bama, UGA -2 , LSU, AU, UF) 1st in east
2018 (UGA -1, Bama, AU, UF, LSU) 1st in SEC

Kirby has SEC east best recruiting classes 3 years in a row. Richt never finished first in SEC recruiting. We should finish in the top 2 in the SEC again this year and 1st in SEC East recruiting again this year. It’s all about talent acquisition and then getting the most out of the players.

Kirby swept SEC East 2 years in a row. Richt never swept the East.

how 'bout them apples'?

I think Kirby will beat Saban in the next 2 years. It's obvious from the 2 previous games that Kirby understands more about Saban and how to gameplan(offense and defense) against Alabama better than any coach. Other teams have good games against Bama here and there, but none dominate. I think Kirby has to take his in game learning and with recruiting, will beat Saban.

Pre-season I thought it was Georgia’s time to take the reigns.

Maybe it’s next year. However, I am starting to think that we have a strong chance of standing in the way again next year. We have the best collection of skill players that we have ever had at Alabama. We are gonna be tough again next year.

I think after next year we lose our current nucleus of great players. I think UGA continues its rise to become the dominant SEC power for a while.

It’s the way of the world. Things change. The young overthrow the old. Saban can’t keep it going like this forever. I see us being great for a good long while, but I think eventually UGA becomes the ELITE program after Tua and Co. leave the Capstone.

We've heard it all before. Players change, coaches change. There is only one thing that has been consistent in the last 10 years. Alabama. No program in sports has been more "clutch" than Alabama.

He is at the same level as Richt at this point.

Richt's first 3 years were damn good years, they are not what got him fired. He got fired when he got complacent with JUST winning 10 games. Richt was wanting that title his first few years. If Kirby does the same thing as Richt over the next few years ( gets complacent with being a good coach but a better friend to the players and surrounding staff ) I'm sure he will get canned too, but until then it can't be said if he is or isn't going to perform better. Take richt's last year for instance. His recruiting had went to shite, had to rely on a grad transfer QB that had been benched at another school. He also never recruited in the trenches. He lost his desire to get out on the recruiting trail and put in the work needed, either that or he was walking in the recruits houses like " frick it, you can come to UGA if you want. If not I don't care." Don't look at just the records when you look at who was replaced, you have to look at the whole body of work.
